Very rude, went on irrelevant tangents and stated that book was "wrong." Complained 7x how "smart phones aren't smart, roll over!" instead of teaching. He forgets, trails off, just very unreasonable. & his lectures are useless, he taught the same lecture two classes in a row. Don't take if prone to panic attacks or English is your second language

He forgets a lot of things like what was he said or assigned. Told random students that he "dropped" them by mistake. Keeps poor records. Very unclear, wonders away from lecture topic with his weird stories. Lectures are horrible. Must fact-check everything he says or writes because he forgets a lot of his class material. Horrible teacher. Got through maybe 13 of the book that we were supposed to complete to be able to take the A+ exam. Would have been better off just buying the book and reading it myself in half the time. He didn't even know what he assigned as homework half the time and got into arguments with the entire class multiple times because of it.

Easy class. Not recommended for those who are seriously trying to learn about computers or for those whose first language is not English. Lectures are pretty useless. As an immigrant, this was my introduction to the US school system. He shouts at us like this is the '60s, which was presumably when he got tenure; hasn't had to be pleasant, reasonable or do any refresher classes since; very rude, swears, doesn't know his subject, lectures worthless, discusses his tea bagger politics in class. Mocks unusual names.

Pro. Grogan is the coolest computer science teacher at Pierce. Extremely funny and great sense of humor, you will love his lectures. Labs are easy at first, then gets harder, but not that bad. No homework, but you can do some for EC. Tests are not that bad, lets you use the book! He is really chill, the class is laid back, your going to love it.

Super cool guy as long as you don't talk too much or take out your phone. His projects are supposed to be personal, and if you actually put yourself into them and do something you like, he will love you forever. No joke. Easy tests, assignments, and a decent amount of lab time. Lectures can be a bit dull, though. All in all, it's an easy class.

Pretty easy class if you do the reading.Lectures are based on the reading assignments.After 3rd week attendance isnt mandatory. The final test is long and can be a challenge.Offers extra credit which made a big difference for some students, but you have to attempt the assgnments in order to get the extra credit.Stay off your phone while in class.

Even though this teacher is nice, his class is one of the most boring class ever taken in the Pierce. Just turning all assignments and doing easy tests from Words, Excel, Powerpoints, will get an easy A for sure. Good thing is that the attendance is not mandatory except quiz and final exam dates.

It's a Linux class! There is nothing to learn if you speak 133t LOL 5 labs, 2 mid terms, some homework , and a final. Easy class. If you don't know linux by codes, learn it. Class is woven around the book. Just the basic commands, AWK/GAWK, bash script and thats all.

If you know PHP, and god forbid PostgreSQL, you will be good to go. 5 labs,last one is a killer shopping cart and 2 easy open book midterms and a final. Make sure you read the book, attend the pop quizes. Labs are not that hard nor the tests but you have to know the stuff. He is an easy grader.
