Awesome teacher, very helpful and clear on what he expects. English isn't one of my stronger subjects, and some of the material was a little dry, but taking him gave me confidence in my writing. Take him!

He's an Okay Professor. Dumb boring class though. Easy as long as you do the work. And that's if you know how to write. Because he's not going to teach how to write. You write essays and he grades it and tells you what you did wrong and right.Final word: if you can't write, take someone else. The problem with him is you won't develop your writing.

The man knows his stuff. I have not met anyone that knows more about the English language than Robert Kole. Fascinating. Made me actually enjoy Beowulf and Canterbury Tales. That's saying something. Keep teaching, Dr. Kole.

English was my worst subject, but Professor Kole helped me to become a better writer.yes he is maticulous, however, if your willing to do the work, you will get an A. He is very helpful; all you have to do is ask for it. He does give a ton of papers, but you'll thank him when you have to go for your masters!

Robert Kole may know Shakespeare well, but he is not qualified to teach History of the English Language. We had to buy a very expensive textbook and workbook with assigned readings which were barely mentioned in class and they NEVER tied in with Kole's arbitrary and pointless lectures. I got the sense that he didn't really know the material.

First day of class, around 30 soldiers with one captain. Last day, party day(you need to bring stuffs), not even 10 soldiers attend, maybe lost in the battle? It's not a hard class, make sure you are good in english. Took one day to finish each of his essays. Yet, the grade didn't diverge. I am weak at writing, and I didn't learn anything!

His lectures are so boring that you'll seriously have to bring other work to do for other classes just to pass the time. I for one used to spend the class time balancing my checkbook and flipping through Vogue. He's undeniably sweet and knowledgeable, but he really needs new teaching techniques.

I believe he is a good Professor. However, I do have one complaint. He waited until the very last class to give an informative evaluation. I believe this evaluation, which took approximately 20 min. should have been done midterm, which would have given the class the time and opportunity to improve their skills.Only gave 2 min. eval during class

Professor Kole is wonderful. His class requires alot of work, 4 papers, but he's a fair grader. He critize your work, so be prepared, but it's only because he wants to help you. He's easy to talk to and helpful. He's willing to discuss your paper if you have questions and gives you ideas on how to develop your essay. I enjoyed this class.

I took him a while ago and liked his class. This was the first course I took at Queens College and I was impressed. He helped with the writing and although you had to stand up and read, it was not so bad. Some people get nervous reading in front of others, but it is a good skill to develop.

He is a really nice guy and a fair grader. Yes he does have a lot of criticism, but it is aimed to help improve one's writing not crush their soul. It is frustrating when he jumps all over the scenes in the play which weren't assigned yet and he brings in other works that may not have been read by everyone in the class. If your an English major than you obviously like critism - You can never write properly - ever. So, he will make you feel sad and depressed. Dont jump. He's smart and thats about it. Constant papers and reports, attendance is taken till the last day of class. He sucks, did I say that already?
