Bio major, never liked history much before, Prof lectures as if he is telling a story. Weekly paper, but only 300 words and can be done in an hour max. Gives lots of opportunities for EC. Take lots of notes, you can have a double-sided note sheet of paper for tests & he provides a study guide, so basically I never studied for a test. Awesome prof.

The grades are 7 papers 300+ words, 1 midterm and 1 final which you can have a cheat sheet for. He gives a study guide which are straight to the point. There's one quiz at the beginning which is a map/syllabus quiz. Pretty easy other than having a lot of papers which didn't take me long and were just asking for you to answer three questions.

There are only like 5 grades in this class, 2 are the midterm and final. Needless to say if you fail its pretty hard to come back from. He tells stories as he lectures there aren't any powerpoints if you miss it, youre sol! Also he doesn't update his grades until the last day of the class so its hard to know where you stand. I wont take him again.

This professor is one of the best on campus. Provides opportunity for every student to succeed. No need to cry about the writing. If you show up to class and do the work you will pass the class.

Most engaging professor I've ever had. Wants everybody to pass so the 100 level students who fail, it's their own fault.

He doesn't use PP, but talks like he's telling a story. It makes it more involving, but I highly recommend getting a recorder. No tests, 1 map quiz, a midterm and final. Allow 1 page of notes for that. 7 response papers on a passfail basis. Pretty easy if you make some sense (short also). Gives a lot of extra credit response questions.

His lectures are long and very boring. I love history but he just did not do a good job at explaining things and it was very tough to keep up with him.

Interesting if you pay attention. Every lecture was like a huge story time. Can be very boring though. Papers every two weeks but very easy. Just try to pay attention. I'd recommend to anyone. Need little textbook for papers but never touched the big one.

Professor Landrum is a good teacher, he is very enthusiastic about what he is teaching and simplifies things enough so they can be understood and remembered. However, he goes off on tangents a lot and has very, very strict work policies. You NEED the notes to make your cheat sheet, but if you have a friend you don't really need to attend class.

Wow this guy is pretty strange and has emotional issues (like he is on his period 24/7). He also grades papers tough and never accepts late. He never posts grades or announcements. He stared at a kid rudely who came in class late. He is BORING! He is arrogant and never in his office. The good reviews on here are old.

Pr. Landrum is an excellent professor. He teaches History like a story and is able to share his enthusiasm with you. I wouldn't suggest taking this class with this professor if you are catholic and are incapable of taking criticism. he can be very critical of the church.

Great professor! He was pretty easy and gives you a week to rewrite papers. Is a stickler for handing things in on time and doesn't like people sitting in the back. Allows computers in class but doesn't tolerate people napping. Do the 300-word response papers right when you get the syllabus. And he will count your words, trust me. Don't do less.

As long as you are willing to put in the work his class is easy. You can bring a page of notes (front and back) to both the midterm and the final. The only "difficult" thing is reading the assigned book and writing a paper on it, but he gives you the chance to rewrite it if you did poorly.

Landrum has a lot of energy, is entertaining to watch and rarely misses class. I doubt that he takes attendance and you do not have to take notes because they won't help. Do all the source response paper assignments once you get the syllabus to get them out of the way. I sit in the back and he doesnt seem to like that, but you should do it too.

Super nice, and what everyone says about his energy is very true. Gen Ed History is going to be boring even if Christ himself is teaching it, so lay off. The upper division classes move very quickly, and are very interesting. A very hard grader on essays, it's true, but the re-write policy makes up for it. Highly recommended.

He was a really bad teacher, I had to hold my head up to keep myself from falling asleep, and this was at 3 in the afternoon! He demanded that we write a paper on a book that was no longer in print, which made it impossible to get/order, so at the last minute, he reassigned another book and gave you one night to read it and write a 10 page paper!
