Comment:
Dr. Delville doesn't break things down at all. I'm pre-med and this class was hard for me. His exams are TRICKY. The major percentage for the class comes from 2 midterms (25% each) and comprehensive final (30%). Test reviews are NOT helpful. Be prepared to WORK HARD for each test to score well. This was my least favorite class all semester.

Super hard to understand, class consists of 5 easy quizzes and 5 easy assignments but the majority of your grade is 3 tests including a comprehensive final and the tests are HARD. I am a science major and still did not do well on his exams (C on the first one and a B on the 2nd and I'm taking the final tomorrow).

Dr. Delville is a very knowledgeable professor, but this class is difficult. Expect reading a LOT of research papers, and memorizing much more than you'd think you would for a psychology class. This is the hardest "psychology" class I've taken, and the only one with a (hard) cumulative final. In other words: this is a biology class, not psychology.

He was always available for office hours and once spent over two hours having a conversation about class material and explaining things in depth to me. The material he teaches is not easy, but going to office hours pays off. Ask intelligent questions during office hours that show you are invested in the material (which is very interesting)

In class, he may seem to genuinely care about students but this was not what I experienced in office hours at all. He wasn't paying attention to my questions, made me feel really dumb and test material only comes from lectures. Textbook optional. Also I had a 89.75 and he wouldn't round me up to an A. Pls choose another profclass if possible.

I had him for upper division neuroscience class - and I loved him. He doesn't use a textbook, so his lectures are simplified, without too much focus on the technical and the structural. He really wants you to know what is going on in the brain, rather than what does what function/structure wise. You have to attend lecture. Funny and down-to-earth!

If you aren't a bio major, his neuro classes can be difficult to understand. he is a very sweet and understanding teacher and will always help you if you can. He loves to talk about rat sex and hyenas and can be very funny at times. It isn't fair that people rate him poorly because his subject is difficult to grasp.

I really didn't like him. I felt he was arrogant and he thinks too highly of himself. You had to fill in a lot of the lectures (but the problem we don't use a book so finding sources are ridiculous). I didn't like him.

Okay if you took him for some intro to Psych class I could see easy, but I had him for a neuroscience psych class and this is definitely not the case. He is a nice guy, but prepared to fill in all the gaps yourself because he can not answer a question clearly, leaving you confused and frustrated. I am not the only one who has these sentiments. Kind

This guy has it! I mean, if you really just have to pass intro to psych with a C or better, then you need to go to him! Oh yea, and he's a nice teacher!

Delville is a pretty nice teacher that gives you all the notes you need for the test. No need to buy the book because it is worthless. As long as you listen to his lectures and review those notes for the test, you'll do fine in the class.
