Dr. Lindahl is a great guy, honestly. However, coming from the perspective from a non-music major in a class that is geared toward other "non-music majors," this was a tricky class. It is a good thing that I had some musical background, otherwise it might've been worse. We spent 95% watching YouTube videos and then were asked to write papers on it

Take his classes. He is a terrific man who cares much about the welfare of his students. He is a good teacher with a love for his subject. Occasionally brings in his trombone which helped break up class. The course was easy with his instruction from a musical student standpoint. Those with no music experience may have to do a little studying.

Doc is a terrific man to have as a teacher. He understands the materials well, and loves his students. Class was easy and very informative from a music student standpoint. Those that have never studied jazz prior to the class might struggle moderately, but nothing that can't be conquered by minor studying. Highly recommended!

Doc is the greatest! Great guy with a great sense of humor, and is very clear with what he expects. If you "just let the little guys in your head do all the work" playing the trombone is simple!

Everything is online. but u need to go to class cuz he takes attendence for pts. quizes are m.c and can be taken 3x. use process of emimation. test and quizes and paper is work at the same perent wise of the grade. paper is on a cd rewiew and live jazz rewiew. ask him for help if u need help hes not too bad there. good sleeping class.

He likes to sing a lot in class. Mostly listening to music and stuff. Nothing too difficult. He grades on attendance after 3 missed days. Papers are easy. Weekly quizzes are super easy, can be taken 3 times. No book, all online. Tests are a breeze. He's very approachable and helpful.

Easy A, quizzes on blackboard and can take as many times as you want. 2 papers that are relatively easy. This guy is really nice and helpful, but his lecture is boring and pretty unstructured. REALLY knows his stuff, though, and is always willing to help. Definitely worth it to take this class. GREAT professor.

this guy loves music! jazz class was the best! I learned a lot and did really well in his class. Take good notes and pay attention. I can't stand it when people fall asleep in this class. It was tough at 8am, but fabulous anyway... as a jazz lover myself.
