Comment:
Worst class I've ever taken at Auburn University. Organic Chemistry was better than this class. He assigns WAY TOO MUCH homework, grading takes FOREVER, doesn't know how to use technology, DOZENS of group projects and assignments, and HATES to admit when he's wrong (which is a lot of the time). Basically, unless you have to take this class, R U N.

Let me begin by saying, this class is not difficult. It is tedious. General consensus of the class Groupme: we've learned nothing. His "eBook" is unpublished, unedited and links out only to Wikipedia. It's an online class without working links. He goes on misguided political stampedes. Major change to grading scheme two days before the final exam.

Dr. Locy's rating on here makes people believe that his class is difficult, hard, or challenging. That is not true at all. Show up, do your insane amount of busy work, and leave the course with an A. He makes you work in groups and cares more about you learning than test grades. However, you still don't learn but this class is an EASY A no doubt.

This class material is not difficult, but the "smart classroom" aspect (finishing everything in a group with a time limit) is. There is never enough time to finish assignments, and the labs are tedious. He will call on students randomly for questions and ridicule them for their response. Very arrogant!

Locy is an arrogant jerk that does not lecture well. He will badger you for an answer then make fun of you for whatever you answer. After you spend 30 minutes listening to him argue with himself, he will not tell you the correct answer. His labs are ridiculous, pointless, and tedious. Do not take genomic biology unless it is absolutely necessary.

His class was unclear and hard. You better spend time on textbook, but the problem is that textbook is also unclear and confused. I recommend you to take practice exam questions which he will provide on web.It will helpful to get some point on the test.

May be the worst professor at Auburn and that's zero exaggeration. Lectures are awful, any questions will be met with a condescending answer. Labs consist of endless, pointless internet surfing where you hopelessly try to find the most mundane crap to copy and paste. Should be fired, along with a good portion of COSAM.

This class is just not fun at all! The lectures are boring and the labs are tedious! Dr. Locy is somewhat difficult to follow, but the test are all passable! Just do all of the online stuff before every lecture and you will make a B!

Don't take him because he is a complete smart ass and isn't helpful at all. To do well on the exams you have to know the material frontwards and backwards.

I dreaded every moment of this class. Whatever you do, never ask him a question in lab or after class. He'll give you a 30 minute, irrelevant answer for a yes or no question. Definitely take genetics instead since I heard this year, Wooten changed it to a 10 point scale.

If you enjoy being confused all semester, arguing about correct answers, and basically being told you are incompetent then take this class. This class is not worth much- take GENETICS instead

Dr. Locy is not all that bad. Do all the homework and non-test assignments perfectly and you have at least a C. Do all that work and you are prepared for the tests. A is very very achievable if you put time into it.

I never thought this class was his number 1 priority. He always seemed to have something more important in his life. Classes are just terrible, and attendance is mandatory. Labs are somewhat helpful and EXTREMELY tedious. Good luck, cuz half his test ?'s come from the blue. Would never recommend in 1000 years.

Took him for Honors Biology. Class is real hard. Daily "Clicker Questions" for attendance/grade. Internet homework is ridiculously hard/long. Tests cover random/irrelevant information. Lab is ridiculously hard/picky. Got a C in the lab which made getting an A in the class harder. Pulled off the lowest A (90%) by one question on the exam.

Very smart and knowledgeable, and seems to really want his students to do well. However, he conveys information to his freshman biol class with the same complexity as if we were post-grad students.

Bob is a little awkward at times but as long as you go to class, do the clicker questions, read, take the online quizzes, and do all of the homework reading assignments, you should be fine. He scales a LOT and helps you out if you need it. Go to class and ASK him about tests, he WILL help you. Plus, lab is a breeze.
