Pennington lectures the entire class. Love telling anecdotes, sometimes repeating the same ones. Uses old Powerpoints in lecture, does not work out problems on the board. Need access code for HW. Tests were MC and relatively simple. Multiple group quizzes and one project. Made me re-consider econ minor because of how boring the class was.

is at Mount St. Joseph now so the course # is different (business ethics was our course). Super cool professor, likes when people disagree provided they have a reasonable argument. The book was difficult to read. 8-10 f 1-page papers, 2 3-page papers, and one 7-page. Fun class .

Prof Pennington knows his stuff. If you go to class, pay attention, read the book, and do the assignments, you will do well.

If you take this class, read the book. It is helpful that he bases his tests very closely off the book, and that his lectures follow quite closely the PowerPoints which are based solely on the book. But, if you are the kind of student that just goes to class and listens, and never reads the book, you probably won't pass.

HORRRIIBLLLEEE professor. Avoid taking him at all costs. He goes on rants in every class and teaches a minimal amount of information. He allows a note card of info for tests however, it barely helps. AVOID THIS PROFESSOR

He's a great guy, but his teaching skills are lacking. He gives a good amount of extra credit, but it wouldn't hurt if he added more given the inconsistencies with what he teaches vs. the standardized ECO test given in labs. You WILL NOT pass if you do not have good reading comprehension, for most of your learning will solely come from the textbook

Terrible teacher. This is the most boring instructor I have had in my five years at UCF. Takes points off for minor details and haa weekly assignments, tests, quizzes. Reads straight from the powerpoint for his lectures. AVOID

HORRIBLE professor. His lectures consisted of him reading powerpoints which were the same as the book so they gave us no advantage. He never went over what will be covered on the exams. He is condescending when you try to clarify what he went over in lecture. He is so boring and goes off on unhelpful tangents.

Dr. Pennington definitely knows what he's talking about and will help you if you ask. However, I found his lectures often difficult to relate to the actual homework/quiz/testing material. This class will be good for you if you read a lot on your own. Good man, but bad teacher.

Quizzes and Connect homework are easy, but the tests are extremely difficult. Offers a lot of extra credit however. Goes off on tangents during lecture, but is very knowledgeable on the subject. Great sense of humor as well.

Really loves the material. Can go on tangents during lecture, but I found the stories to be informative and interesting. If you go to class and read the book, you'll do fairly well in the class. All tests are done in the testing center on your own time, which I didn't like. Class was a prerequisite for my major but I found the material fascinating.

As always, Pennington's class is far easier than everyone makes it out to be. Despite the syllabus only mentioning 1000 possible points, you're really able to get close to 1100. The test bank is widely available online, as well as all of his homework assignments and quizzes. You'd really have to try hard to get less than an A in Public.

I absolutely hated his class, and it was at 7:30 am. His tests are very hard. He does not clarify well. The textbook was more helpful. I stopped going because I gained nothing from going to class. He offers extra credit and online homework to help buffer the grade. I failed every test and still passed with a C+ for this reason. Avoid his class!

He really does not help you and his lectures are pointless... I had this class at 7:30 which made it hard to pay attention, but everything he says is "exactly" in the book... Class not mandatory but tests are very hard.. However I failed 2 of them and still ended with a C in the class because of the online course work...Try to AVOID HIM if possible

He does not teach what is on the exams. The exams are difficult, and its a lot of conceptualizing. If possible avoid. However attendance is not required, and going to class is pointless. You can do better teaching yourself. DO NOT TAKE!!!!! He rambles on. Don't buy textbook. Notes online.

Curved insane amount. About 90 extra credit points on a 1000 point scale. Collects trains and thinks that we are interested in knowing this. Tells more stories, than the lectures. Drops lowest test, if you failed your an idiot.

DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!!! I had him for Macro and he is an AWFUL teacher! He never does a good job preparing students for the tests. I did awful on all of his tests and I'm an A student in all of my other classes. Will never take him again!!

He rambles, so class is basically pointless to go to besides the attendance credit given out at random. Tests are very hard. Had to read book inside and out to do decent. Had a good grade before final, ended up bringing my grade down a lot. Avoid if you can.

His lectures are boring, doesn't explain anything. You must teach yourself everything, or go to the econ lab. Tests are really difficult. Extra credit is given quite often if you actually go to class, and then at the end of the semester. He is really unfriendly in an office hour setting but is quick to respond to emails and help with problems.
