Ridiculously easy class. One discussion post per week, two 1-page papers and one bigger project. Easy grader, answers emails and clarifies everything. Ended up with a 498/500.

I knew this class was going to be hard for me but I didn't expect it to be that hard. He isn't clear with what he wants at all and if you want help you need to go to his office hours. I wouldn't skip this class, there's no making up for it.

Dr. Ryan is a great professor but stats is a tough subject. There are 6 tests including the final but all are multiple choice. There are three homework assignments but fairly easy. He does offer help after class, in his office, grad student tutoring, and undergrad tutoring. There is also touring in the library. He really wants you to succeed!

He is a nice guy and willing to help but if you don't put in the effort you won't get a good grade. He gives 10% extra credit which helps a lot especially if you need a C for your major.

Dr. Ryan is the kindest man you could have as a professor. Really cares for his students and especially his field of study. I will not say that his classes are easy, but you are here to work & he's ALWAYS very willing to help. He once took 2 hrs of his time out to help me understand everything and I had a very high grade for final. He's awesome.

Dr. Ryan is a great but challenging professor. It helps a lot if you go to all of his classes. This class takes some serious work and practice to get it down so it is no slouch of a class and this is college so it is not expected to be easy. At the end of the semester, you end up learning a lot.

Okay, everyone before me that commented that Ryan is a bad teacher obviously came to college not to work. This class definitely does take time, intelligence, and studying but he is there to help you every step of the way. He is very kind and gives homework which can boost your grade anywhere from 5-10%. Read the book and you'll be fine.

Nice guy, but extremely fast paced. His tests are weighted more than anything else and they don't match up with what you learn in class. Even though Stats is math the test are all comprehensive. If you don't read the book and show up everyday you'll fail guaranteed. Not impossible but definitely not easy.

Tests are difficult, but extremely helpful when you need it. Easy to schedule appointments with. Clarifies every point twice or more during lecture. Make sure you read the textbook! Uses a required online assignment website called Aplia -- very interactive and helps your grade! Costs $80 though.

He was a tough but fair teacher. Always willing to stay after to help if needed. Attending and reading are mandatory to get an A but it's not impossible. For his grad course he did give a study guide, which if you did it you knew what would be on the test. The tests were not cumlative, he had 4 throughout the semester. Very knowledgeable and kind.

He wasn't a helpful professor. When I tried to get help with the research paper, he skimmed it quickly and didn't make any recommendations, so I still got a bad grade. The exams were so confusing, and it was never made clear what we were supposed to study.

He's a nice guy but his tests are so tough to understand he needs to make them in plain english. What I didn't understand was that I took my research paper for him to look at it and he said it was fine but I received a poor grade which didn't make any sense!! Even the grad assistant said it was fine!!

I'm an 'A' student, and both times I've had classes with him I've been challenged by his exams. I was able to keep my grades up by STUDYING a TON (READ THE BOOK!!!) and going to EVERY class. If you skip, you won't do well.

absolutely the worst professor i have had EVER. i am an A student and had to work my ass of to get a B in the class. no matter how much studying and work you put in to the class the tests will always blindside you, and his class lectures do little to explain the material in a comprehensible manner. AVOID

Stats isn't easy for a lot of people without studying, regardless of teacher, so expect to dedicate book time for this one to understand the material best. He keeps explanations simple in lectures. As long as you study you should do well. He doesn't require attendance, but unless you have someone in class telling you when tests are, attend class.

it's a hard class, but as long as you READ THE BOOK ENTIRELY, DONT MISS ANY CLASSES, and DO THE PRACTICE QUESTIONS you will be fine- these are all things that are expected of a college student. His tests are cake compared to the questions on Aplia. so if you do well on the homework you'll be fine in class.
