There are way too many questions for each hmk assignment;they take forever to complete especially when the professor isn't thorough in lecture. Nice man but not so great at teaching the content and he seems disoriented a lot of the time while he's at the board. You basically have to attempt to teach yourself the material which is nearly impossible.

He's really hard to understand in big lectures, lot better in a smaller class. But he's helpful in office hours. I never went to lecture. Just did the hw on my own, studied and got at A in the class. If you get an A on the final, you get an A in the class. The final is cumulative but mostly based on the stuff you did towards the end of the course.

Very knowledgeable and a pleasure to talk to outside of class. He really goes out of his way to help kids learn, even the slowest kids in the class. So much so that we missed over half of the syllabus. It's a shame he had to dumb down differential equations because the kids in that course were slow. Hopefully he'll get better kids next semester.

He is a very fair instructor. Those that say he is a bad professor are simply too lazy to study and aren't used to not having everything given to them. You will get the most out of him by going to his office hours. He even gave my class a makeup exam. An A on the final exam means an A in his class. Remember, studying is the hardest work there is.

Professor Sczech has an accent and most kids end up skipping his lectures, or doing other class work in the time. I guess its Rutgers fault for placing 200 kids in a math class in a lecture hall, cause everytime someone asks a question he stops teaching. We barely finish the class material, and the recitation quizzes are pretty hard.

Excellent professor! Very fair and doesn't trick students. His office hours are worth going to since he's great one-on-one and he's very entertaining to talk to. His lectures can be confusing because he talks fast and has an accent. Do the homework, ask questions, and go to his office hours and you're guaranteed to do well! He's the man!

He's a really good guy! Very smart. If people complain it's because they don't go to his office hours or don't do the work. His lectures are tough bc he has a strong accent but if you go through the homework, practice, and go to tutoring you will pass. Would take him again.

This is the professor to take for ANY advanced course. He does go at a fast pace but always asks if we understand the material (or go slower). He was always interested in what we had to say. Very fair and flexible with exams and deadlines. Office hours is where you'll get the most out of him. I would definitely take him again! Really awesome guy.

He goes at a fast pace b/c he thinks the class understands if no one speaks up. He is an excellent professor & always available to explain things. He's very passionate abt math & cares for his students. His class is awesome and i can only assume pple w/ bad comments do not ask questions or put in the study time required of any math class

I don't know what Szcech is like for the lower level courses but he's pretty good for Applied Math. He does go at a fast pace but always offers to slow down or clarify. He has high expectations for each of his students and wants you to do well. He's quite disorganized though but I would take another class with him.

Take him if you want to learn. Yes some of the comments below are true but he is the best one there is. Office hours is where his helpful the most SO attend them. Also do HW in a notebook he gives X-credit for it. Follow the textbook., study, attend office hours and you'll pass. Also, study sample exams the real exams are almost based on them.

WHATEVER YOU DO DO NOT TAKE HIM FOR BASIC CALC! TAKE FEIGN INSTEAD. You wont understand a word this guy says, not a single word. But if u somehow manage to bust out a A on your final that will be your grade for the semester.

The material is NOT hard, however, there is a large quantity of material in so little time that the course becomes difficult. His accent is heavy. He is also a very light speaker, however he now uses a microphone. He is hilarious. He tends to jump over calculations and does a bad job at explaining. Good for advanced classes, bad for a basic class.

By far one of the more challenging and difficult professor on campus. Somewhat heavy accent and if you take his class be ready to read and live by the book. His lectures are somewhat pointless cuz he just reads straight out of the book and makes it harder than it is. He is not afraid to ridicule you if you don't know the answer to a question.

VERY passionate about calculus which is wonderful in itself. However, he does struggle to teach it on the basic level and to explain to students who have questions. He teaches on an advanced level, moves very VERY quickly, and assigns A LOT of homework! Encourages book use but teaches with more steps than the book does. Rather thick accent as well.

Avoid taking him. Although he is nice and willing to help, his help usually confuses you more. Make the book your best friend, without it you are lost. Know all theorems word for word! One good thing is if you bomb both tests and get an A on the final, you get an A for the class. Really tough course. He makes it tougher!
