If you actually want to learn, he is a great teacher. He is fair and gives opportunities to boost your grade. If you put in the work you will learn a lot of interesting stuff! I really enjoyed this class.

Comment:

Overall a excellent professor for anyone who wants to give a damn. He is very fair, but only if you actually put in the work to do well. I would highly recommend to anyone who cares to learn. However, as you see some bad reviews on here, you will have a difficult class if you don't care or just want to pass right on through.

Comment:

First Biology class I have felt like I might pass easily! Very similar to a ninth grade Bio course so for most, should be a pretty simple class. I barely studied for one test and still got a 70 so thats not too bad. Just work hard and don't talk over him and you will like his class a lot.

I took his biology class in the summer and I personally think hes a great professor. He gives handouts with all the information you need to know and pretty much tells you everything thats going to be on the tests. Youre only graded on tests, lab quizzes and homework assignments. The lab quizzes are open notes/book. Great guy!

He started of our class saying he did not care if we showed up or not which says a lot about a teacher and not in a good way. His voice is very monotone. He does not go into a lot of detail because he seems to assume we already know the information. I would not recommend this prof or take a class with him again.

So here's the thing... At first I hated the guy. He is sassy and has a short temper. However, with that being said, if you continue to show good effort in class and actually prep for his tests then you will find he is accessible and wants you to do well. Just put in the effort and show you care! He also does provide extra credit opportunities.

He is a very impolite man. Lab students including myself would go to him with questions and for help, he told us to read the lab and the textbook. He never answers your question, so be prepared to answer whatever question you have on your own. Prof. Loneck is much better and will make sure you understand the material and will even lecture in lab.

From day 1 he set the tone of the semester! Rude, awful, hard and condescending! I registered late and didn't know a thing about him! He was only teach available! Shocking!!! I wish I would have just waited another semester now so I could have gotten a different teacher! Makes me wonder about this school and the teachers they employ!!

HORRIBLE CHOICE. Firstly he sounds like the guy from the dry eyes guy which is more boring than the class itself. He didn't want us working with lab partners(um so unhelpful) He was not helpful at all. He was rather rude and insulting when it came to asking questions. the only good thing i can say is his quizes are open book which was ok. STAY AWAY

I did not like his the way he did his grading it was like he would give the students whatever he felt like giving them and on top of that he was not always clear on what he wanted us to do in the labs and he was not very good with answering students questions. I would not recommend him for a biology lab.

He is the worst professor ever! I am doing terrible in his class. He hates me and is making it harder on me due to that fact. Like everyone says he has a monotone and every test becomes 100 times more harder. Never has anything good to say and is very strict. If you miss 5 classes you fail automatically. Has too much work load and too many tests!

Other students including myself finding him intimidating to approach. His grading metrics sometimes seems random. His lectures are monotone and if you sit too far back it is sometimes impossible to hear anything he is saying. The tests are predictable but few guidelines are given as to how to study for them. He does not seem to enjoy teaching.

monotone that summons it. Our school system really need revamping. there something wrong when you can not approach your professor about the material or ask a question. This is the prime example that some professors do forget that adult learns are in the classroom and they should not treat them like children.

For serious bio majors only. Goes through material pretty quickly and tests and practicums take a ton of studying, as there are fill in the blanks, short answers, and essays. Gives tons of opportunities to earn extra credit to make up for the difficulty. Smart guy and helpful, but can be grouchy lectures are awful due to his painful monotone.

He sound like Ben Stein, and he's extremely rude. I don't know how many times he reminded us during the semester that "this isn't high school anymore." It might have been true, but it got annoying to hear ALL the time. He does give a lot of extra credit, but you have to work for it. Tests are really hard and come from his teaching and the book.

SOOOO BORRING!!!! I had him for 2 sections for the Bio 103 Lecture, and it was the WORST! He rambles on, doesn't explain things properly before going on to the next topic, talks in the most annoying monotone, and flips through the slides super fast. Dont take IQS with him! Scherbatskoy is the BEST- he is funny, nice and is a GREAT teacher! :)

Grades with a huge curve because most students that take this class are not biology majors and they do not put forth the effort and bomb, but gives extra credit and the curve helps, you have to be pretty bad to not do well in my opinion. Dr. eagan is also a really nice guy, although a little monotone.
