Dr. Dute is such a sweet old man!! His lectures are really long but pay attention and take good notes! Tests come straight from the lecture and he will hold review sessions for each tests. Don't bother buying the textbook. I would definitely take him again!!

Honestly the best teacher I have ever had, he's an adorable old man who loves his cats almost as much as he loves biology. Everything that he explained made sense, there wasn't much confusion especially if you take good notes.

Dr. Dute is an outstanding professor. He doesn't take attendance, but test material comes from the lecture so definitely go to class!! He holds a review session before a couple of the tests, and it is extremely helpful! Very approachable. Lectures are long but he attempts to add a little humor. Don't waste money on the textbook. Go to SI.

all the tests come straight from the lecture and do not expect class to ever get cancelled or get out early. he is very approachable in office hours and his tests aren't bad. do not skip lecture!!

I took this class as a Math/Sci elective for engineering, and I'm glad I did. Learned a ton. Dute was probably one of my favorites here. You're tested on the notes and he skips the b.s. in lecture. Easy to listen to, very understandable. Extremely approachable. GO TO THE SI SESSIONS, it's good-grade assurance for free! Do well in lab.

Dr. Dute is one of my favorite professors at Auburn. He's extremely informative and really wants his students to learn. The majority of his class is lecturing, so write down everything he says and you should do well on his tests.

Dr. Dute is such a cute old man. I've always liked science classes, and he made biology interesting especially with all of his cat examples. The material is fairly hard, but it got easier over the the semester. I would recommend going to class because his tests come straight from the lecture. I would definitely take him again if I could.

Dr. Dute is a good teacher, but I was in over my head. I'm a good student, but this class was not something I understood easily. DON'T take a T/R lecture because it's very long. He goes fast. He does not believe in extra credit or curving the grade. You get what you get.

Dr. Dute is an amazing teacher and person! Expect a lot of cat examples and adorableness. By far my favorite professor this semester, always willing to help you. His tests are fair and pretty easy as long as you go to class and study. Even with 300 students, he does an excellent job clearly and interestingly conveying the material. He's the best!

Dute is great. Attendance is not mandatory but if you go his lectures are good. His tests come straight from the lectures so you really only need the Mastering Biology online access part and not the whole textbook. He is such a nice old man and really wants his students to do well. Take his class!! You won't regret it, by far AU's best Bio teacher.

I LOVE Dr. Dute! His love for Biology just shows through his lectures and he is extremely understanding and polite to his students. I made an A on every test because they come straight from the notes. Don't even buy the textbook. Very specific on what he wants and what will be on the test. FOR SURE TAKE!!

Dute is an adorable older man who reminds you of Mr. Rogers. He loves biology and loves teaching it. His tests are challenging because of the material, not the format. He does not try to trick you on the test. He gives lots of real life examples of what he's teaching. Generally enjoyable.

I heard that Dr. Dute was the best bio prof at Auburn. I beg to differ. I don't know if it was his teaching style or if I'm just dumb but I had no idea what was ever going on. HARDEST CLASS EVER. Whenever I emailed him about getting help he told me to come to his office hours. When I told him I had class at that time he wouldn't help me get a time.

Dr. Dute is the best Principles of Biology teacher at Auburn. TAKE HIM!! He is so nice and he makes his lectures pretty interesting. Very willing to help if you visit him during office hours. In order to make an A you do need to study, but it is very doable. 5 tests total. One of my favorite teachers.

Having a good background in high school biology, this class was not too tough for me. Textbook could be useful for clarification, but I didn't use it at all. His exams come straight from lecture, and they are relatively straightforward. His lectures are good, and he emphasizes what will be on the exams. Overall, he is a great professor.
