Comment:

If you're not willing to put in a lot of time aside to study don't bother enrolling or drop before class to get your money back. Master Gaines will answer any questions you have anytime he is available and will explain it to you. Great class to take and the cadaver lab was awesome!

Comment:

The fact that this professor requires students to refer to him as Master Gaines is indicative of his elevated ego of himself. He is not consistent nor a fair grader and prone to subjectivity favoring those that grovel. I am African American and refused to call him master, needless to say i did not do well in his class. Im in PA school now! :)

I heard so many horror stories about Mr. Gaines before I took his class and seriously, don't listen to them. Anatomy is not supposed to be an easy course. He is one of the best instructors I've had. He is helpful and gives you what you need to succeed in his class. You have to apply yourself. Go to class and study hard. You'll do fine!

He is very nice but also such a hard professor. You have to work extremely hard to do well in this class. But he is very helpful. He is not for everyone though. As someone else mentioned every bad review for this professor has been taken down. Im not sure why but he is the only one who teaches this class. So basically him or nothing.

I have noticed that A LOT of the ratings for master Gaines have been taken down. There is NOTHING but good ratings for him on this site and I know for a fact last semester I saw several bad reviews. So I dont know what happened, but dont let these good reviews fool you. HARDEST CLASS I HAVE EVER TAKEN.

Master Gaines is a very nice man, but he makes his classes far too hard. He is the only teacher besides his wife who teaches the course and she is SO MUCH worse than he is. If you can I recommend taking somewhere else.

Dedication to pass this class. Recommend taking 1 easy class alongside this course and lab. Class is very test heavy. Teacher is great, but you have to put in extra time outside class.

By far the most clear cut professor I have had in the sciences. Everything is laid out for you and despite popular belief, the class is not very difficult. All you have to do is memorize and you will do great. He's a very fair grader and isn't a stickler for small things. Plus, the tests are multiple choice besides labeling the figures.

Master Gaines is by far the best teacher I have had at Cameron. He makes it clear from day one that the class is not easy, and that you have to study. You can't a day of class or you will be behind. He goes above and beyond, and is always willing to help you with any questions. You can tell he truly loves his job and helping students learn.

While he is a good teacher, he is a very unfair grader and is not always clear on assignments. I studied my butt off in this course (2-3 hours daily) and got low B's on his exams. Thank god I got A's in the lecture exams though. I will not take his classes anymore.

Professor Gaines is by far the best teacher I have had at Cameron, but also the hardest. This is a hard course with so much material you need to and I mean MUST know. Read everything he goes over in class and study, study and study some more. He is so helpful if you go to him. Answers emails very quickly if not early in the morning. Best of luck!

Mr. Gaines is the best professor I've ever had. He genuinely cares about his students. This class is not as difficult as everyone makes it seem, but do NOT underestimate how much you need to study! Lab was basically my second home. I would also not recommend taking more than 2 other classes with this, it is VERY time consuming. GOOD LUCK!

Comment:

Biology and nursing students from Cameron go into professional school programs all over the state because the education they get is on par with or better than other OK schools. The subjects aren't easy and there's a lot of material. Master Gaines certainly isn't going to give you a grade you didn't earn, but he will bend over backwards to help you.

Master Gaines is the best biology instructor i have ever had in Cameron. he is nice and so dedicated to his students. the course is a lot of work, but he always works with student, i still wonder why he wouldn't get his PHD ; because i want to call him DR . he is too intelligent.

Mr. Gaines is passionate about his profession and is an exceptional professor with the knowledge that made me question if my own physician could be up to par with him. A very patient and understanding professor. The information is there to learn and it is your dedication to his class, like his dedication to you, that makes your grade. Great class.

I had him for anatomy and you will have to study everyday to make an A. The information isn't hard it's because of the amount of information there is to learn. He is probably the most helpful and interested teacher I know of though.
