Prof Griffin is the BEST!! I rearranged my schedule just to take this class after being so impressed with him in 110. His exams are straight out of the powerpoints and textbooks. He marks very reasonably on essays. You can tell he enjoys coming to class which is nice. He has alot of background in sociology.

Great professor. Super nice, down to earth guy. Exams are reasonable, no surprises. Just watch out for the student marking of essays. They tend to try screw you over for some reason. If you have any problems, Ron will help to correct them.

He's what you want in a prof; nothing more, nothing less. Classes are pretty interesting, but nothing mindblowing. He's very helpful if you visit him outside of class, and he's really nice.

The best class I've taken so far. The prof's love of the subject is evident, and infectious. Would gladly take a class from him again.

Griffin is a good prof. His exams are fair, actually tests the material stressed in lectures, unlike some profs. I feel he gives you a fair chance to learn the information as he doesn't try to rush through the material. I would recommend taking this class from him.

He's a good prof both ways: if you pay attention, he can be pretty interesting, regardless of his mellow teaching style; if you want to skip a few classes, or do other tasks (like using a laptop) during the class, you can still get a good mark from reading the textbook.

Ron is pretty mellow during his lectures, but he really comes alive if you visit him during office hours. Actually, he is such a great conversationalist that using his office hours has become part of my routine. Oh, and give sociology a chance: 110 is super boring for the first semester, but that is just the nature of introductory courses.

What previous reviewers mean by "boring" is "monotone" which is generally true. Ron has, to my knowledge, over 15 yrs experience using sociology in the practical world, and even more experience doing long-term case studies at the U of T. Practical exper. is what you should look for in a prof: go to the movies to be entertained, go to class to learn

Some people say he's intriguing and interesting to listen to ... NOT. I've fallen asleep in his class numerous times. Yes, he knows what he's talking about, but maybe because Sociology is NOT a difficult class is what makes it difficult to pay attention. Read the textbook, he takes everything from it. Marks quite easily as well.

Pretty good prof for the most part, tests were straight out of the textbook like most classes. I found that he was impossible to reach, lots of people I know also found that he never answered his emails and that is usually the best way to reach profs outside of class. Not sure if he never checked them or just decided to not answer them

FANTASTIC PROF! Loves his subject matter and shares that with his students; his powerpoint notes are extremely useful when reviewing (cramming) for his exams, and just going to his class is a wonderful experience because he makes SO much sense, and clearly wants everyone to understand it like he does. Exams & marking VERY fair as well- AMAZING PROF

Rev Griffin does not reply to either e-mail or voice-mail. If you need to talk with him, you should look-up his class schedule and find him there, otherwise, he is never around to help you.

Avoid taking Sociol 110 with this Griffin. It takes him forever to post his lecture notes online. He is disorganized and doesn't let you know which chapters will be tested on unless you ask him. He doesn't reply to emails. Lectures are useless-slow, boring, he doesnt' really teach, he just spends 1.5 hours talking-take this class from someone else
