I can't even. Once he threatened to shoot us if we come to class late. I wish I was kidding. (It was recorded in lecture capture lol) Other than that he's really confusing and gets mad to you when ask him to clarify. His class notes are pretty bad too but you will pass if you read the textbooks so it's not an impossible course.

most disrespectful professor I ever had at University. He and his course were completely irrevelevant. He regularly belittled students and would say one thing but do something else.

Go to class. This guy pops quizzes with as little as two days notice. And expect to teach yourself everything in this course because according to Reid, "life's not fair," which apparently justifies his poor instruction. Yes, he doesn't teach AT ALL, but when the odd occasion rises, he will introduce some wrong information and confuse you. Enjoy.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt and I felt bad that he was "misunderstood" by students. Unfortunately they were right and I was wrong. He has no interest in education here. Egotistical and a power tripper. If he has you cornered, good luck as you'll get help from him. Stay away if you can.

Easily the worst professor thus far in the Pharmacy program. It doesn't help that the material is entirely irrelevant to pharmacy practice. He expects you to teach the course to yourself.

Easily one of the best profs at UBC. Typically the students that don't like him are incompetent.

Great guy. Great prof. The only reason why pharmacy students don't like this guy is because pharmacy students are generally whiney little babies who want to be spoon fed throughout university.

His personality is often misunderstood by students as he is a very nice guy, but he strongly dislikes when students are disrespectful by talking in class or showing up late for class.

Awful notes, threatening, relies on the textbook to actually teach students because he'll confuse you in class. Admits hes trying to fail/trick you on his exams. The course is crap too, not pharmacy related whatsoever. Bottom line he needs to retire to get someone who knows what they're doing in there.

Useless textbook, useless notes, horrible lectures, ridiculous attitude (better than last year though), insane tests, massive ego. Avoid like the plague...but unfortunately none of us here has a choice.

He was very mean and hard to understand, but that's not the worst of it. He hides notes on WebCT in a hard to find section and doesn't tell us they're there. Also, he teaches huge complex concepts and then doesn't put them on the midterm or final, instead he asks something that was mentioned once on one teeny slide and assigns 7 marks for that Q.

Hmm...let's see...He insists that this class is different from any genetics course you've ever taken, but that's not true. Easy to see why one could flunk his class - even if they have a genetics degree...he'll confuse the hell outta himself and the students trying to explain a concept (you'll even be confused if you did your thesis on the topic!)

There's a reason he doesn't come to the Pharmacy skits night presentations and after about one class you should all know why. Oh, and don't make noise in class....even if your finger gets cut off and you want to scream...don't. You'll end up with no fingers at all if he hears you.

He seems passionate about improving the pharmacy practice even though it is not very practical at this stage. His ability to teach needs to be improved. Instead of emphasizing on applications, there is too much emphasis on memorizing structures and step
