She was a really solid professor. If you go to class you will get a majority of the material without reading, but reading will help. The small lectures are also super helpful if you don't understand something from the big lectures.

Go to every clas with the PowerPoint already printed so you can write your notes on that b/c she goes super fast so you won't have time to copy the power points and take notes in class. Be sure to read before the tests & be very thorough in your test answers. She likes detailed responses. She's nice, helpful & friendly!

First test is hard if you don't study the powerpoints, lecture notes, and speak with the TA. That is how you will have a better shot at it. That sounds like a a lot but its not. The online ebook is slow but if you read it, it makes everything else fall into place. The prof. has lived politics and worked in the field, she knows her stuff, just ask.

I am a senior and this class is one I am taking to finish off my degree. I am not a Poli Sci major and I didn't take any of this in HS. This material is difficult. Dr. Schreiber is a great professor. I agree you should make good relations with your TA because they help. Excellent Prof, good stuff to know, take in class notes, meet ur TA its importa

I don't think she realizes that 102 is an introductory course. She gives study guides longer than a page and only tests you on 14 of them. And when you answer you have to know it 100% and be overly specific and have specific terms or you will not get full points. Worst class of my life. Never rated teachers before but she was THAT bad.

Professor Schreiber is a brilliant professor. However, her class was extremely difficult. Her tests are 90% long answers and you REALLY have to be specific. We she writes on the board you can guarantee you'll have to explain for the test. Know your cases!!!: dates, people, outcome, how it changed present time rules. Never bought the book. Got an A

Not difficult material. However tests are very specific and you need to know your stuff. you cant know something 70%, you need to know it 100%, so pay attention to detail.

Okay, so maybe I did not attend lectures or read the book until it was time to study. But I'm serious when I say that the tests were quite hard. You are assigned online quizzes after each chapter that are pretty easy but are only like 15% of your grade. The two midterms and finals are a killer. Even if you think you have studied enough, you haven't

Hardest class I have ever taken, the tests are ridiculous. You can study for so long and know all the material but if you miss one word (the tests are all written response) you get marked. I hated this class.

I took this classs last semester. I feel that is the same class as Government in high school. Her tests arent that had but they do require lots and lots of writing. Overall shes a great professor that is passionate about politics. I anyone to not use the textbook and study of her powerpoints. I couldve gotten an A but missed alot of class.

Tests are outrageous! there are plenty of essay questions and she expects a lot of information for each one. You can be knowledgeable about the answer to the question but if you miss a key word or something specific she was looking for a lot of points are docked off for that question.

I went to all the lectures, took notes and study and still got low scores on tests. I recommend studying from her power points and not from the book, as she tells you to do. Doesn't give extra credit. If you want to pass, don't take her.

The most challenging course I HAVE EVER TAKEN. the exams don't seem hard, until she grades them. knowing the information is not good enough; she is looking for particular terms in your answer, that have to be incorporated thoroughly. Literally you have to study 2 months in advance if you want anything close to an A. AVOID

Made the tests way harder than what a 100 level class should be. Average for the tests were less than 60% and she doesn't curve. Avoid if at all possible

The class overall is very interesting and informative. The exams are the problem. The exams are given as if the class is an upper division course. I have taken 500 level classes and they are 100x easier than her exams. I failed the class but i took the 8 week course at SWC with Professor Saenz and got an A. Too much work for a lower division course

Lots of work but with effort you can get a good grade. I earned an A- and she gave me an A. MOST effort I have ever put into a class. I also had a TA who liked me. Participation & attendance count plus you need to show up for an A. A lot of information but not impossible, NOT AN EASY A.

Class is definitely not easy. Well my TA was not easy at all. She makes a large emphasis on women in politics (which was extremely boring to me). She took out the research paper this semester and that was a 15% cushion that was removed. AVOID IF POSSIBLE.
