Here's the thing: He's an awesome guy, but he's not extremely clear about his expectations for tests. His study guide prepares you well enough for the essay portion of your exam, but the study guide focuses entirely on concepts rather than detail. THEN the test requires you to recall every word he every said.

Really nice, sometimes talks fast but will always answer questions if you have them. Answers questions thoroughly so you understand! Great class! I really enjoyed it!

One of the most caring and understanding teachers i've ever had. He's always completely straight forward and you know what he expects from you in his class. No one will regret taking his class.

I took Ukrainian history, Dr. Zguta is by far my favorite professor. He is a wonderful old Ukrainian man and I have taken everyone of the classes he teaches. He has studied the subjects he teaches for upwards of 50 years, so a lot of his information is straight from his own research. He is very funny and engaging, and always there to help students.

All I can say is if you have the opportunity to take one of his classes, do. Professor Zguta is passionate about his subject in a way that gets the students excited too. He sometimes gets off track in lectures but when he does it's always interesting and often provides extra context for whatever the topic is.

Professor Zguta is great! He's very knowledgable about the topic, and he really cares about his students. Take his Ukrainian history class, he's actually Ukrainian so he knows what he's talking about, plus it's super interesting. If you ask questions in class he'll kind of go off on tangents but they're interesting tangents so it's not a bad thing!

Professor Zguta is an amazing teacher, probably one of the best ever. He is like a fine chef, and his delicious creation is History 4700. Each bite you take oozes forth with declicious, fascinating, chocolatey knowledge. Attend class, and be merry at this buffet of Imperial Russian History!

I really liked this guys class. He was very good about keeping his office hours open to everyone. I liked the way he presented information. Haven't taken tests yet though. Two exams whole class. Lots of reading, but it's generally pretty interesting stuff.
