Means well but he hardly teaches in class and then expects the whole class to know what's going on. When you asks questions for clarification nothing really gets clarified. He also grades really weird, like he's making the grade up completely. He'll give something like a 4.27 out of 5. The whole experience was really chaotic, wouldn't recommend.

After reading reviews on here previously, I was extremely discouraged about this class. However, that quickly changed. Yes. He does talk about his personal life a lot, but to me it honestly adds to the class. This class and is mostly project based so there isn't regular homework. Just show up, follow the project guidelines and you'll get an A.

He's self centered and shows you his vacation photos and constantly pats himself on the back for being great. He knows everyones name day one which is kind of weird. His class isn't too difficult if you can put up with his ego

Same Kelley is a great professor. Take him if you need to take a GE. You don't even have to take notes in class, he gives a review sheet before every final. Also if you have a A going into the final you don't even have to take the final.

This man was the worst prof. I have ever had. He treats a communications course as an African American Studies course. Makes you buy the plays he writes and read them and puts them on tests (lol no one else would buy them so he makes his lecture students buy them) Goes through slides so quickly its impossible to take notes... If you can, stay away.

Kelley was the most self- absorbed, racially biased, insulting professor. His power points are irrelevant to the course material that he requires you to know. He made fun of students daily, and insulted black students by assuming they were African American and then laughed in their faces when they didn't know "their history". Worst prof. ever!

I absolutely love Dr. Kelley! He is so wise and always so ready to help when you need it. He has a story for just about anything. He is a fair grader and an absolute wonder to work with. He has a great sense of humor and I would recommend his class to anyone. Attendance is important, and with a teacher like Dr. Kelley, who would wanna miss class?!

This class is the biggest mistake i have made in cortland. Calls you out by name, takes attendance by clickers that are a waste of money. Racial biased and does not contact well what so ever! took me more then three emails till contacted back about a make up test! Avoid this class at all costs you will not learn anything.

He is a really funny guy. Impossible to take notes because it is so quick, so don't take them. Listen to what he has to say, and when he posts up the notes online then you can review that. He knows everyones name in class and there are 200+ people. He is also very useful for internship opportunities

Big class but he knows who most people are. Go to class and read the extra readings carefully if you want to pass the tests. There are outside events to attend but he usually cancels a class day for attending them and lets you do a different assignment if you can't attend. It's a common sense 100 class for the most part just do the readings!

Mandatory Attendance. Cell phones/tablets required to stay awake. lol.. read read read if you want to pass. Makes you do gospel choir and play attendances in place of class. Most of class spent in a fight with technology. oh yeah the papers there extra credit

200+ class. Attendance is mandatory and makes you bring index card every class to track it. Lots of books for this class but if you don't read them you don't pass the exams. Powerpoints barely cover chapter material. Class time consists of loading YouTube videos that don't have much to do with the material either. Average 100 class.

Fairly boring class but what do you want the guy to do? he's teaching a lecture class with a microphone and 200+ kids in the class. It's not like he can do many hands on activities. Read the required chapters and attend class and you will pass the course easily.

All he does is talk about himself and his stories. the notes make absolutely no sense, makes you buy his play and it has nothing to do with communications. the tests questions do not come from the notes. do not reccomend taking. he has killed all interest i may have had in communications

This class was great! Don't judge him from COM 100 cause that class was boring! COM 311 is great and he was great. There is a fair amount of work but all the information is so useful for preparing to enter the real world and job market! I didn't even buy the book and I haven't needed it. Take this class!
