Comment:

Best professor I've had thus far at DePaul. Gives funny, memorable examples for certain terms/scenarios during lecture. Make sure you take notes of the terms he goes over during lecture. Midterm and final are mostly T/F and they're pretty straightforward - many of the questions are straight from scenarios he went over during class.

Comment:

Manella is the best teacher I've had at DePaul. Lectures include examples that leave you laughing out loud and help you remember content for exams. Take good lecture notes. Most of the content is covered before the midterm. The tests weren't the easiest because the majority was T/F, but if you come to class and pay attention, you'll do well.

Comment:

The grade being based off of a midterm, a final, and some briefs is daunting at first, but Professor Manella made the course manangeable and entertaining. Though attendance isn't really mandatory, his hilarious true stories in class relate directly to the subject matter and help you remember concepts for tests. 100% the right choice for BLW201.

Comment:

A good choice for people who are not majoring in law and needs to take it as a prerequisite course. Professor Manella looks for effort within his students and will give you a good grade as long as you show him that you have tried in his class and do the case briefs that he assigns.

Comment:

Sam was just awesome! He's a very funny guy, but at the same time he can serious when it comes to real-world example. You can just tell, that he's been a lawyer for a long time, as long as you pay attention and find someone to do the briefs with you will be in great shape. Also, to be sure to take some notes and study them for the exams.

Sam's lectures are sometimes quite dense, but he always uses humor and examples to help keep the class engaged. Two exams and five case studies comprise your final grade in the class, so there's not much work to do outside of class. If you take decent notes in class and study them, you should do well on the exams. I definitely suggest taking him!

Take him for BLW! Hes so knowledgeable and knows how to describe law terms in ways to comprehend. Hes a Lawyer so he has a lot of experience and doesnt act like a strict professor typically used to. Sam was one of my favorite professors Ive had at DePaul. Super interesting to listen to and gives good examples to what youre learning that help on the midterm and final. Midterm and final is challenging, but if you do a good job on the case briefs and he knows your name/likes you, youll get an A no matter what you get on the tests. TAKE HIM!

SAM IS THE MAN. Hands down one of the best professors I have ever had. He is hilarious and always kept me interested. He cares about his students actually LEARNING instead of grades and tests. I have never had a more understanding, passionate professor. TAKE HIM I PROMISE YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.

one of the best teachers at Depaul he is a Lawer and incorporates his real world experience in his class. I took his 3 hr nightclubs and I didn't want to leave he teaches you so much. only 2 tests midterm and final also some case briefs that take 10 minutes

Would highly recommend. Go to all his lectures because he makes the material really easy to understand. Take good notes. He gives you whatever grade he wants so be super nice to him! His classes are usually pretty interesting. You only need the summaries of each chapter so you can save money by getting them from a friend.

This guy is awesome. If show interest in the class he will not fail you. His lectures are not dull or boring, but its really fun. Just make sure he gets to know you and your name. It can really help your grade. I had a D on the midterm,but receive a B as the final grade. Do the extra credit it will help your grade.

Sam is the best. Class is 50% midterm 50% final. He doesn't provide notes so you just have to write down everything he says when he lectures but he's super funny and the examples he provides are helpful in understanding the material. Also hot for a dad!!

MGT 300 is definitely harder than his BLW 201 class because the tests are 2/3 writing and not all multiple choice. Everything is based off the book and he simply talks the whole class with no PowerPoints or any visuals

You will end up knowing more about his life than anything in management. His classes are irrelevant with what you need to study. The tests are all based on the readings so prepare to read the whole book. Take him if you are good at learning on your own.

Genuine guy who wants his students to do well. Explains the material well in class, but I recommend reading over the concepts he reviews in class in the textbook. Very helpful outside of class and is hilarious. Also, he does not assign that many cases for hw, which are due on the day of the final. A lot of content is covered before the midterm.

Amazing teacher! Really wants all of his students to do well and learn a lot. I learned so much from this class! I would recommend anyone to take him. He is always willing to help. Professor Manella was an amazing instructor. His class is completely based on lecture but he gives great examples to help understand the various laws, etc. Your grade is based off of the midterm (50%) and the final (50%) as well as extra credit case briefs that are turned in at the end of the final.
