Tough teacher, really tough teacher. If you don't do your work seriously in her class you will fail. If you don't read your materials you'll probably fail. If you don't show up and participate, you'll probably fail. Super stressful as a teacher. Wonderful person though. Knows her subject and the Deaf community.

Extremely knowledgeable in her field. A good asset for students who are interested in pursuing a career in Deaf Studies. Extremely difficult and particular when it comes to grading. Be prepared to devote your life to these classes. Some work is assigned and due the same day, two days later, etc. You really need to be active in the online course

I come from a 4 yr school I do not think Prof. Lygren is that hard. It seems to me that she cares about her students getting it but she cares about the Deaf community more. Bad students hurt the Deaf community. You learn about this if you do the work. I think she is funny.I laughed every class about something. She also has great real world stories.

College level work. High expectations. Very helpful in and out of class. DO THE WORK and go to class prepared. Ask for help if you need it. She will also help with other bcc problems...great resource. Sometimes she gives you ways to improve a low grade.

Difficult teacher, cancels class often, will not allow make up tests, very strict with attendance, plays favorites, uses voice for about 1/2 the class, I honestly felt as though I didnt learn anything aside from some new vocabulary!

If you can get past the fact that she barely passes anything back/grades and cancels a lot, Sandra is a FABULOUS teacher. The amount of knowledge you will learn from her surpasses expectations. She is truly one of the best in her field. Yes, she's hard and challenging - but don't pass her up because of that. Be ready for your "Brain to Sweat".

An excellent teacher, she offers so much knowledge if your willing to learn and presents you with open- minded perspectives, not just on Deaf culture, but also on different depths of the essence of any culture. Though there was much work involved, I was able to learn so much from her, and would recommend her to anyone that could handle the class.
