I would highly recommend taking bio with Bush. Lectures are accessible outside of class. You have to go to class though because she has clicker questions for points and will occasionally do in class participation papers. She has a 10 question test every week that you should not blow off! They are pretty easy as long as you study the homework.

Dr. Bush is a really fair teacher. She has quizzes every Wednesday so there are no large exams, except for the final. The homework helps prepare you for the quizzes really well. I am not a strong science student but I would definitely recommend taking Bio with her

Dr. Bush makes the lectures interesting and easy to follow. However, there are class activities that allow you to get credit for showing up to class. The activities are not announced beforehand. I missed one and my grade dropped 5%. Her tests are way harder than they need to be and I did all the readings and classwork.

There's a test every 2 weeks and lots of reading assignments but if you go to class and do the readings its not hard to get an A. The lectures are interesting and shes a nice lady. Just don't skip class if you want a good grade because she gives points for showing up.

Not a hard class, just a bad teacher. Seems nice and like you get the material and then you get 20 minutes to complete a test that comes from left field (even if you read the assignments and come to every class and take all the notes). Just not great.

She's a good teacher. There's a 10 question test every week, and lectures are what's directly on the the test. She answers any questions and tell you whats on the test. easy to no homework. She posts lectures online so there's no need for class. She does questions for point for attendance but its not a big part of your grade.

Every class period was worth 10 points which was a pain because things come up. There were exams every other Wednesday. At first it was scary but it was great in the end. Having less material to cover each test made it much easier to do well. Lots of group work and your groups are chosen for you which is very annoying. Overall not bad though.

Dr. Bush is really awesome. She is a nice lady and definitely cares about you/your grade. She makes the material interesting. I didn't like how she puts you into your lab groups as I was stuck doing most of the work. Overall, I would take her again.

I found Dr. Bush's lectures really interesting! I also really liked how she had shorter, pretty straightforward tests every two weeks; I think it helped reinforce the material better because I was able to really study my notes instead of cramming. It wasn't an "easy" class, but I feel like Dr. Bush makes it easy to do well with some effort.

I really liked the class, the lectures, the readings and I liked Dr Bush, I did not, however, care much for the group project. The people in my group showed up to meetings but did little to nothing on the project. Professors - look at/ask for edit logs - so you know who actually worked! Want to do well? Do all the readings and go to class.

Everything in her lectures is what is on the tests. It's nice that you have 2 chances to complete the homework and improve your score. Same thing goes for the tests, since there is a stage 2. As long as you go to class and pay attention, it's pretty easy. There are also a couple extra credit opportunities which are pretty easy to do.

I dont like the way she and Johannes Schul set up the class. Instead of just teaching us the material they go over their teaching methods a lot. No student wants to learn about how they are being taught, they are there to learn the material. They also base the class around their research a lot, so if you like insects they're the professors for you.

The class is easy for the most part but the labs dont go w/ the lecture at all. And it is really heavy in group work, which i hate. I dont want to depend on other people for my grade, but that's just me. Lots of homework. And lots of small tests. We learn a lot about things that aren't really general bio, its more about bugs and their research.

I took Dr. Bush's evolution class last year and recently realized that it really changed the way I think. Now when learn about something in one of my other classes, I wonder how it evolved and sometimes I think I figured out how it happened. I wanted an A and was annoyed I didn't get it but I learned a lot in that class, so I would recommend it.

Her class material comes off as really easy and interesting, but the tests are harder than expected. She has a test once about every 3 weeks, but each question is extremely heavily weighted (one problem wrong will take you from an A to B). You have to go to every class because she doesn't post slides or do tegrity and she uses tophat clickers.

I took this last spring and am a bio major that ended up in this class because my advisor is an idiot. If you're a science person this class is a joke. If you're not I still don't imagine it would be too hard. She gives lots of little tests so it's easier to do well on them and she's really cool but GO TO CLASS because there's (easy) in-class work.

This is possibly the best biology class I have taken here at Mizzou. Dr. Bush gives an "exam" every other week, but they are only worth 30 points a piece. That way, the lessons are broken up into smaller chunks that you can truly learn. She uses TopHat, so going to lecture is pretty important. She is a phenomenal professor and I highly recommend!
