This is by far the worst teacher I've ever even heard of. Gives 3 tests entire semester (this includes the final) Absolutely NO homework or participationattendance points, so if you do poorly on 1 test you don't have any way to redeem yourself with this teacher. No ebooks. Highest grade was a C . Went from a 3.6 GPA to an F in this class. BEWARE!!

Stay away! Honestly the worst professor I have ever had! He lectures on his own political views and can be very offensive. Only grades tests, no other work. So if you're bad at tests you're screwed. He also doesn't allow computers in class. I had the book online and couldn't even bring it in. Doesn't give out an email, only his work phone line.

Despite what everybody seems to be feeling, I REALLY liked him! He's a brilliant man! So interesting to just listen to him go on about all different areas of knowledge. I don't know why he is working at community colleges though, he should be at UCSD. I learned so much from him and I recommend his critical thinking class.

The worst teacher I've EVER had. I love this subject and he made it the most boring time I've ever spent in a class room. I dropped the class before I got too far into the class. Looking at the other comments, I'm glad I did. His attitude only makes his lack of teaching abilities stand out even more. Very unhelpful.

his class is boring. he grades you on 3 assignments, 2 of them are in class essay tests, an i dont even kno what the othe one isi never did it. he assigns reading but always goes over it next class and dont pertain to the tests. take good notes and you MIGHT pass

I took this guy and it is the only class I have ever dropped in school. DONT TAKE!!!! . I took his critical thinking class and it SUCKED!!!. Most painfull class to go through ever. I decided to skip it and go right to Logic which was a great move because it is almost the samething and counts for a math

Thought philosphy would be fun, Turned out to be a horrible teacher. BAD jokes, laughs at himeself.Confusing. At times he can be confusing, but honestly he is a pretty good teacher. All his classes are lecture style. So you HAVE to be able to take notes, or there is NO way you will pass. His test and quizzes are essay style. You don't really need the books, but they HELP alot, it helps you understand what he is talking about.

Unclear, unorganized, never knows what we have or haven't discussed. Rude, insensitive, and follows absence rules to a "T". He doesn't care why your absent...it isn't cleared unless you were in the hospital!!! Stay away!This class it'll bore you

Marcus was a great teacher. He brought real world issues into philosphy and new just about everything on his subject from memory. Was more than willing to help students and encouraged debates and differing view points.
