I LOVE RAGLAND!!! Please appreciate him while you have him. Come to class prepared and ready to discuss. His class is mainly based on discussions and papers. There are no tests and your grade is heavily leaned to how you do on papers. Ragland is so knowledgeable and really cares for his students.

Ragland was a great choice for intro to philosophy. There is homework for every class but not to difficult and expected for a college level course. He's a great teacher and the papers are do-able if you pay attention in class and keep up with the readings. Easy grader on papers but if you don't do well then he'll let you redo it and give points back

Dr. Ragland is an awesome professor to take. He really knows philosophy and makes the class interesting and relatable. There are no tests in the course that I took, just a couple pass/fail papers and several more intensive papers. However, it is not super difficult if you are willing to pay attention in class. The homework was also all pass/fail.

Dr. Ragland is awesome. He knows so much about Philosophy but is great about explaining it in an understandable fashion, and asking questions to get people thinking and involved in discussion. Really nice guy and always willing to work with you outside of class.

Ragland is a fantastic professor! He rarely lectures and leaves a lot of time for REAL discussion. His papers are somewhat difficult, but you can send your papers to him before it's due and he'll edit it for you. Work hard and send your papers to him and you'll enjoy the class and get an A.

Philosophy of Religion...was actually interesting with Dr. Ragland. He encourages discussion and wants to hear what students have to say. Mandatory attendance, but hw is super easy, just read the assignment. 2 papers, not too hard either, if you are a decent writer. Write it like an argument, and present both sides. Easy A. Dr. Ragland is my favori

If there are people in your class who think they are the next Plato or Aristotle, be cautious, they will NOT shut up and he won't make them. Homeworks are easy and take a few minutes. Papers are hard but he gives a lot of feedback. This should be an easy A if you go to class. Also doesn't tell kids to be quiet, which gets distracting.

Highly recommend. Daily homework but most are completion grades. Two papers, no tests. Lectures organized but mostly composed of stimulating class discussion (maybe 30% notes and 70% discussion, depending on who's talkative in the group). Very helpful and understanding as well.

Recommended. His lectures are stimulating and well planned. The homework grades are grade inflators and the reading isn't too intensive. He grades hard on papers though, he sits down with you and critiques it and then gives you a chance to rewrite it. A good professor.

Excellent teacher! Some kids have taken classes from him several times,so that has to count for something. His grading scale is harsh,A=95,but he offered to read & comment on our papers before we turned them in, which was great.Nice interactive class.
