Setsuko, as many of the other reviewers mention, does pick favorites. These favorites, however, are the students who come to class, get the reading done, participate in seminar, and edit their papers. Her meaning can be muddled from time-to-time, and she talks about sex maybe a little too much, She is known to be a bit ****, too.

i kept getting stuck with settsuko, and while i personaly love her to death, she was not a good teacher. i did pick favorites and ingnored all others in all the classes i've had with her. i was fortunate enough to be one of those favorites, but she really doesn't know what she is doing. she seems to be at callege for the social aspect of it, becomeing close personal friends with the students. she has a wonderful personality, and i wish her the best, but i can't recommend her as a professer. sorry setsuko

She was very arrogant, she even proclaimed herself an "aristocrat". Basically she just picked out favorite students (usually rich, privilaged kids) and these she fawned over these golden children while snubbing everyone else. She assigned way too much reading in this class and _nobody_ could keep up. I made the mistake of being honest when she asked me if I had read all the books and she docked me credits.
