Professor Brook was pretty difficult because she was not clear on what were on midterms and finals and she went at a pretty fast pace. Most of us in the class are beginners so it was hard for us to keep up.

Comment:

Professor Brook is extremely understanding about people's different levels and grades you based on individual improvement and effort, not on whether or not you can play as well as the person next to you. Midterm and final were about the basics of music which she goes over repeatedly (and you need to write about in your concert reports). Good class.

Sharon Brook is an outstanding teacher with a lot of knowledge of music. Do not think that you can fall behind. If you put in the effort she will be willing to help you on anything. Make sure to practice outside of class and go to class and you will pass without a doubt.

Sharon Brooks is an amazing teacher. She is clear with what she expects of her students and provides meaningful feedback on how your playing can be improved no matter your skill level. Just be sure to PRACTICE. It's clear to her when a student doesn't practice, but if you put the time in and do so, she will work with you and you will pass.

Professor Brook is very passionate about music. Brook is a very nice and kind lady who would not fail you if you try. She understands that everyone is in a different pace so she is not a very harsh professor. Brook is always very busy but she offers office hours for those students who need extra help.

Even though I took her class online, she is the sweetest woman ever! Her online music appreciation class is an easy and fun class. She is very passionate about music which makes it better and easier to understand. An outstanding teacher and would definitely recommend.

She's a very very passionate teacher when it comes to piano. She makes piano very fun. I already knew how to play, but even then, she teaches you at the level you're already at. Probably one of the best teachers on campus. She is very fun and easy. Dont need the textbook, but recommended

Professor Brook is a great music teacher. Teaches you the basic of piano. It might be hard for those without music knowledge but she explains it thoroughly if you ask. Midterm/Final has a written and actual playing part. Written was easy if you studied and playing was too if you practiced. A little harsh on the play critique making one student cry.

Sharon is a great professor. If you have zero music knowledge, the class may be fast paced. I had no music knowledge at all but managed to pull out an A. The book is needed everyday since she'll have the class play something out of the book for the last 15 minutes of class. If you're not interested in music, think twice about taking the class.

Awesome professor. Brook was really clear with the material. The book has pieces that you play for class, but you can get away with sharing in her class. She has a busy schedule since she's the faculty accompanist so you have to make an appt w/ her in person. She's a really great professor though. Take her.

this lady is wonderful. man, i had her my 2nd sem of my freshman year, I have been in choir & band for 8 years of my life, & not one of my music directors taught music as well as Prof Brook. seriously. if you want to learn about music, she is the professor for it. she's helpful & inspires you to do big things with music. she's great! bottom line!

This woman is an angel. She is very nice and understanding. Her class was easy; but that's not why I enjoyed it. She plays music over the stereo for the students and not just classical: the music ranges from experimental Terry Riley to Debussy to rock/pop to classic movie soundtrack. Professor Brook is wonderful and inspiring. Take her class!

OMG i just love this professor! She makes my days guys! like...she can easily be the nicest and most understanding person i have ever met. Her true passion for music(piano) makes her an excellent professor. ok class that requires not only musical knowledge but physical skills. You have to hear sounds and be able to pick out the rhythm and beats of it. For people who cannot do that, this is not the class for you.
