Comment:

This class was mainly online, but you had to come in for attendance. This was pre-algebra so the work wasn't that hard. You used a program called Aleks. She was mainly just there to help you out whenever you got stuck on a questions since the class was self-paced and online pretty much. She was okay with answering questions, could be nicer about it

Comment:

Anatomy is a tough course. and she grades you for what you earned. She will not baby you. If you need help, go to her. Lecture is heavy because this class is basically all about memorization. She is a great person and if you just get passed her outer shell, you will love her.

Comment:

Wellman is interesting, to say the least. Her lectures were okay but weren't always helpful. There is little room for mistakes. Bombed a test? Too bad! You can't retake it and there's nothing else you can do to fix it. All of the in-class worksheets are graded and due at the end of class, requiring me to stay longer and be late to other activities.

This class was incredibly hard. Her lectures are confusing and she doesn't go into detail. Your grade is based on the quizzes and tests. She sometimes gives out worksheets that are due in class but won't give you much time. Those will bring down your grade if you don't finish them I have always gotten an A or an A- in math but she was so difficult!

Sharon is a great teacher. I was never the type of person to be good at math, I actually would fail in the past but ever since being in her class I've had an A. But you have to work for it, if you skip you'll miss the math which there's a new section taught everyday. New homework for it online everyday. Missing one day could mean you fall behind.

You don't even need the textbook she only tests off her lectures. A lot of things were very unclear when it came to tests. She would say make me a list of what you think will be on the test and I'll go over it with you. Everyone in the class was lost and confused. Be prepared to get scolded and have no clue what you're doing during cat dissection.

Sharon is not helpful, not approachable. She is crazy hard. Do not spend your money to take this with her, she does not teach. As the quarter went on, she gave less instruction, but still expected us to understand everything. Lots of curveballs, put stuff on final that she said would not be there. Please take anatomy from someone who cares.

In the beginning she acted as though she understood those of us with math anxiety and she had a lot of patience. As time has gone on and the quarter has progressed, she has grown increasingly inpatient, and acts as though you are stupid if you have a question or don't get it immediately. I feel shamed rather than more confident in my math skills.

She uses scare tactics, I am an adult student going back and spending my hard earned money to be yelled at and undermined. She is not an instructor but a grader. All she does is throw the content out there and stand there judging you. She doesn't explain or educate the worst instructor I have ever had in my years of education. >50% if class failed.

Instructor's lectures are organized and clear. Exams are base on lectures and powerpoint. Lecture exams are matching, fill in the blanks, multiple choice and identification. Lab exams are identification. Class is 90% rope memorization. Does not give a clear answer, so make sure you have group studies.

Comment:

Professor Wellman is a good math instructor. She's clear and shows her students many great tips and tricks that have helped me a lot. My only complaint is that she isn't very nice about answering questions and has a tendency of making you feel small or foolish for asking a simple question. Even asking for clarification felt uncomfortable.

I've NEVER received anything lower than a A- in math. Her test are 50ish questions, about 10 pages with only 1 hour and no notes. When i asked for clarification she was rude and unhelpful. I recommend taking Karen Linton instead. i retook with Dr. Linton and received an A in both Math 141 and 142.

DON'T TAKE ANY CLASS WITH THIS TEACHER!! She loves to see students fail. Intimidating. Will embarrass you in front of the whole class. Yells at students. Trick questions. Only lectures. Boring. Interrupts when you ask questions. Tells you you're wrong. Waste of money! She doesn't care. She's in it for the income, there's no passion in her teaching!

Your grade for the class is based off of 5 tests, which she puts vague questions with trick answers. She expects you to know everything she has lectured. If a question is asked she makes you feel that you should know the answer and is intimidating. Also raises voice often, has anger she could control better.

Sharon Wellman is the worst teacher I have ever taken at EvCC. She's one of those teacher's whom if you ask a question, she'll look at you as if you're stupid and should already know the answer. She thinks she's nice, but really she is the Devil. I received an F in her class (with effort), and took math with a different teacher and got an A.

Comes off as rude. Students would ask her a simple question and she will call you out in front of the class because of your misunderstanding. Also treats students like they are children and I don't know about you, but I like to be treated as an adult and be shown respect. Would never take a class from her ever again and I don't recommend her.

Sharon is very organized with her powepoints. Most of what she tests is found in the presentations. Lecture is long, however Sharon keeps it interesting. I made lists of body parts to learn for exams and Sharon gladly helped tailor the list for me.... Extremely helpful.

She doesn't give enough time on tests, majority of my class doesnt finish or does poorly on tests. Her teaching and homework is clear, but come exam time she will try to trick you and the problems are hard, along with not having enough time to take them. she also doesnt post grades on canvas or hand out grade checks. Horrible class, stay away.
