STAT 052 is very group-heavy. It's a great way to meet new people, but it can get annoying always having to work in a group. Other than that, she is a great professor and makes a boring subject like STATs interesting. I took this source to try and prepare for STAT 141, but to be honest we didn't learn a TON of STAT concepts.

Sheila is amazing! It's obvious she cares about her students and wants them to succeed. The class is straightforward and interesting and incorporates a lot of really cool social justice concepts w math. It's not difficult to do well, just do the daily assignments and you'll be fine. Highly recommend this class to anyone!

I have had Sheila for two very different classes (201 and 224) and she is really knowledgable and helpful. All you need to do is pay attention and take good notes, she makes hard content very clear and makes her expectations clear. She is really nice and approachable, and very willing to help students. My favorite statistics professor by far

Super organized/prepared: put together a "textbook" of worksheets in a 1-inch binder (sold it for $15). She didn't take attendance but classes were very helpful. Great teacher so weekly quizzes were a breeze ( I have some stat experience though). Two group projects: seats are assigned in your group and then reassigned halfway through the semester.

This course isn't that hard (and even less if you took cs 087) but Sheila is an absolute gem. She is really funny in class and is able to really break down concepts. Very fair grader and always willing to explain things. Take something with Sheila!

She is awesome. If the class was struggling, she would slow down and make sure everyone was on the same page. Tests and quizzes were graded fairly. Would definitely recommend .

Prof. Weaver was great and STAT 095 was a pretty easy class. The statistics concepts weren't too difficult, so this class was easy to meet requirements for QR and D2. Weekly quizzes were easy. Both the midterm and final exam were fair. Fair grader and always willing to help.

I've never done any coding in my life and I was lost for the first couple months of the class. But once I got the hang of it, it came naturally. Sheila and the TA really helped me learn "R". This class will make you work for your grade, but in the end it's worth it. Put in the work for this class and you'll be rewarded with fairly good grades.

Sheila is amazing. One of the kindest women I've met in my life. She will do anything to help you succeed in her class. If you're struggling, go see her. She is friendly and will make the subject much easier. The group assignments and assigned seating felt like high school though. If you need to take a mathematics course, take this one.

I am not a math major so taking STAT 051 was a step outside my comfort zone. Shelia made the material very understandable and was always available for extra help. She uses a binder in lieu of an actual textbook (which is great). The homework was graded somewhat harshly and the exams were difficult. If you need a math course, take STAT051.

Very easy to come to class, take notes, in class quizzes, and pass the class. Stats141 not being the hardest class to start, she makes it incredibly simple. One of the most organized professors I have ever met, has heaps of resources (online videos, notes, etc) b/c she teaches online too.

Probably the nicest prof I've had here, but don't be fooled by the easiness of everything else, the tests are tough. But if you participate and do well on the homeworks then doing bad on tests won't hurt your grade too much. The group work is annoying but Sheila is the best.

Sheila is one of the sweetest professors I have met. She is incredibly helpful and sends me an email when I'm out of class to make sure that I am alright. Class is incredibly easy. Working in groups of three all semester. No textbook, just a $20 binder that has everything in it ans a $7 statistics computer program.
