Great professor. Smart and extremely informed on all the topics used in discussions. Hard class but if you dedicate the necessary amount of time to understanding the readings and lectures, the exams are not that hard. She is super sweet and very understanding and taught me a lot in her class about cultural diversity and Latin American history.

Professor T is by far my favorite professor at the College. She loves what she teaches, works hard to get to know her students, and is there for you if you need help or advice. There's a learning curve with this course because it's taught bilingually so you have to code-switch every class. I learned a lot about Hispanic culture and the department.

Comment:
I'm glad I took this class before I graduated because I enjoyed learning about Latin American history. However, Professor T. expects students to go find their own answers if they have questions about the texts or lectures, so her answers to questions are a bit confusing. Also, if you're not a hardcore socialist, this class probably isn't for you.

Comment:
As a Hispanic Studies major, I learned a lot in this class and found it quite interesting. However, I would not recommend taking this class with this professor. Professor T. uses the texts to push her biases which she presents as facts, and nobody questions it because they don't want to ruin the few opportunities they have to get a decent grade.

Comment:
Professor T. is very bias. If you express opinions different then what she teaches in class, she will mark your grade down. The tests in this class were incredibly difficult and required in depth knowledge of tiny details that we covered in the texts and the lectures. She also was unhelpful in answering questions and gave no extra work.

Profesora T's class was awesome. It was interesting and thought-provoking; I learned A LOT about Latin American history and culture. She's really sweet, and I had no trouble going to get help from her in class. Figuring she is the head of the department, her grading can be tough. Assignments consisted of essays and take-home tests. I recommend her!

Really good professor, though she does demand a lot. Class was interesting. Also a good contact to make in the Hispanic Studies Dept, as she's the Chair and runs the Argentina study abroad program.

For someone not familiar with Hispanic Studies, the class may seem a bit chaotic at first, but she is a fantastic professor and by the end of the course, the initial confusion is all cleared up. Discussions are insightful, and she's really passionate about the subject covered. Definitely my favorite professor in the department.

EXCELLENT professor. Leads very insightful class discussions, gives equally insightful, though sometimes long, readings. Strict paper-grader, but provides great comments for improvement. Tandeciarz is passionate but not overly so, relaxed in the classrom but still demanding, and great in office hours. Loved her.

Comment:
She's a very nice professor, but the class itself is ridiculous. The course pretty much is taking an extremely broad theory and applying it to the most specific instances in Latin American history. Seems pointless. Don't take unless you need it for the minor. Oh, and the class is so liberally biased that it borders on communism.

Discussion based lcass rather than lactures. Not always clear about what she wants, but very flexible. She really cares about teaching and hte student, but you must stay on top of things, I don't think she hesitates to fail people who deserve it.

Prof is caring, but extremely demanding. There are no lectures, and discussions are extremely unorganized and many times go off topic. she cares about what she does and that's evident.

Don't come into dictatorship expecting the same grading you had in 281. She is HARD CORE, but a fabulous professor, especially in this class. I highly recommend it. You schedule most of your deadlines. She's liberal, but open to other ideas. Funny, too.
