Dr. Locke's class was tough but not impossible. He actually wants students to learn and to apply themselves but he won't give you anything you haven't earned. There was extra credit built into the tests and his lectures were rather illuminating. He is also very intelligent and did all his lectures without bringing notes.

He assigns all the homework from a particular section, doesn't tell you what is actually important to focus on. The lectures do not align with the Homework. The Tests are a diarrhea smattering of the most impossible topics from both the lectures and the homework. Locke is a cold bitter person, and his class is impossible. Avoid him at all costs.

Took this class not feeling prepared enough for Calculus I for engineers. Biggest mistake. Does NOT properly prepare you for tests. Teaches content that is not relevant to the exams and seems to think that you already have a masters or PhD in Mathematics. Steer clear of him at all costs. Was a very unhelpful. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Professor Locke was a fine teacher, I found his class fairly easy and got an A. He gives study guides before every test and they're basically the tests just with different numbers.

Take someone else. Anyone else. For starters, his tests AREN'T multiple choice. All free response. And calculus is very difficult. You can spend hours doing homework, go to every SI, and still have no idea how to do anything on his exams. He's a nice guy, but probably thinks his students are all math majors, so avoid him at all costs.

You will not be able to pass his class with just doing every single exercise, you HAVE to know the intricacies and every little detail and the reasoning behind your formula and everything else. The Hardest teacher I had ever taken and he uses the worst textbook I had encounter in all my years in Mathematics, Im pretty sure Im going to fail.

Pretty difficult, but he tests on the basic concepts of what he teaches during class. The tests may be hard if you don't understand what he's asking for. He goes into depth when he explains problems so it can seem confusing. But he does curve. Do exercises from the book to recognize the test problems!

HOLY COW! DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFFESOR. He has impossible tests that he thinks are easy. He makes the tests beyond belief hard and I DO NOT nor EVER WILL suggest him as a teacher. The worst! I did quite well in 2311, 97 percent. I went to dr. locke's class every day, studied examples after examples, put HOURS into understanding the material. However, when exam time came... I was never ready. I've never recieved a B in college, let alone a d-. Mostly everybody failed the class.
