Comment:
One of the best professors you can have. His class is extremely hard, so get over the idea you are not going to work and just work. I knew practically nothing about DB's coming into this class. After the class I would be completely confident I have all the basics to design, create, explore, secure, and manage a DB.

Comment:
He gives assignments before he teaches the subject. His teaching method will make you feel as if you are studying rocket science. So finish the entire text book before hand. I got an A because I work on DBs. There is a saying, the more dumber a person is the more smarter he thinks he is. Try to swap this course for CS's DB course instead.

Comment:
Lacks foresight. Doesn't think clearly from student's perspective. He thinks there is only one solution to a given database design case. If your solution is different than his, you will get negative points. Unnecessary emphasis on conceptual aspects of database. Course is outdated too, same old slow performing relational db concepts(MSSQL).

Stephen Hayne spends most of his time ranting about whatever her wants. Rarely instructs on everything that is required for completing assignments and leaves most students with limited or no experience in the dark. I'm not pleased with the wasted tuition on this professor. I want to be taught not hear how great you think you are.

Comment:
Worst professor ever. Here is how Dr. Haynes could be good -Follow an out of the box curriculum, and please stop thinking that protecting the value of the credential means making tests incomprehensible. Making a test question so hard that the “answers†can’t be found on Google also has the side effect of making it nonsensical - trust please.

Comment:
It's hard for Dr. Hayne to concentrate on instructing over the sound of how awesome he is. As far as the course goes, lack of structure, unrealistic expecations, and "figure it out" on your own is the norm. READ THE TEXT BOOK... class is absolutely NO help.

The class has a total of 500 points possible - which isn't much. Servers rarely work as designed, instructions are intentionally unclear and missing steps in an attempt to allow students to flounder; however no consideration is given to students with less experience. TA - was literally no help, instructor did not assist at certain times.
