Tests are impossible to finish. I have never had the problem before. There are so many multiple choice questions and lots of calculations. He is very wordy on exams so having to read through thoroughly and complete the exam in the allotted time is difficult. You cannot take more than 90 minutes or he begins docking your grade for every minute.

Comment:

Huffman is an okay professor. His lectures are very dry, but if you can follow along in class, pay attention and take notes you should do fine. The exams can be challenging and are worth over half your grade. Looking at the textbook, doing the practice problems and reviewing CONNECT problems will help. Work hard, this is not any easy class!

Huffman is a very good teacher, he has to cover alot of information in a short time and does a very good job at it. He gives alot of pop quizzes but just by showing up you are guaranteed a 60%. A hard class but if you put in the work you should do fine.

Huffman is a good professor. The lectures can be pretty dry but he goes through material and gives you a good idea of what to expect. If you don't sit on your phone all lecture and actually try to understand what he is explaining, the material really isn't that bad. Can be a bit intimidating but he will definitely help you don't understand somethin

Professor Huffman was an OK professor, but definitely not close to the best I've had. He gives boring lectures and some test questions will be things he only mentions one time in class. If you do the CONNECT quizzes, you should be alright. The CONNECT quizzes allow you to learn the material well enough.

these exams are completely unreasonable and not given enough time to complete. material is presented in the driest way possible and is very difficult to follow. Also way too much material for an exam. 2nd exam covers 7 chapters all very difficult. this class made me lose all interest in investments and finance as a whole

He is a very intelligent guy. This class was tough in the middle with a 7 chapter exam. Material was challenging. Unfortunately, I was pretty bored with the material, but he is a good teacher. I enjoyed BUS333 much more.

Huffman is extremely intelligent and makes every subject interesting. If you e-mail him with a question, he will e-mail you back timely. He expects you to read the book and has high expectations of students, but grades very fairly. FAVORITE TEACHER IN THE UNIVERSITY!

One of the most intelligent profs on campus I'd say, he really knows his stuff and loves finance. You don't have much of an option in taking someone else for his classes but if you study and put in the work there is no doubt you'll do fine. Comment:

For those of you listed above, you probably only thought he was a bad teacher because he actually made you work for your grade. I thought he was the best teacher I had a UW Oshkosh. I have learned a lot from him and use his methods of teaching as a basis of judgement for other professors. I definitely recommend any of the courses he teaches.

Huffman is a nice guy, but is an awfull teacher. He gets way to in depth with finance for an introductory finance class. He may be a good one to take if you are a finance major, but steer clear if you are a marketing major!

He is one of the worst professors at UWO. His exams are horrible...he gives you 40 seconds per question. This guy is on a power trip...he thinks he is so cool now because he just passed the CFA exam. He needs to find a new job...he is not professor material
