Dr. Meats is amazing. I really enjoyed his classes, even though I am not a fan of English literature at all. He showed me another side of English poetry and I enjoy it now. He is passionate about his class, and he is very friendly to everybody, and tries to help as much as he can. Definitely take his class

He's very educated, and he deserves his position at the university. He's got tons of experience with poetry, creative writing, and literature. He looks EXACTLY like an English teacher is supposed to look, from his tweed jackets with shiny leather elbows to his bushy professorial beard. See, I'm using the skills I honed in his classes right now!

Dr. Meats is awesome! His class is difficult, but you leave with an understanding that will make you a better teacher/writer. Always available to help with your work. Available to help with other matters within ENG dept. as well.

Excellent teacher! One of the few professors at PSU that is there for MORE than just the paycheck. Dr. Meats expects a lot out of his students, but he is always willing to spend extra time with you. If you are complaining about this class, you simply lack motivation. He allows you to rewrite papers until you recieve the grade you desire.

Dr. Meats is very demanding in what he expects from his students, but, on the other hand, he's very much open to help his students succeed. Dr. Meats takes about an hour to grade each essay, and he misses virtually nothing. BUT -- if the grade you receive is not the grade you want, he does allow rewrites for a better grade.

Gripe gripe! Meats gives his best and he wants our best. This is university. We are expected to work hard, make mistakes, and to learn and grow. If you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen. Meats is almost always right, has the experience that we all can gain and grow from. Get over it!
