Comment:
Steve is probably one of the most knowledgeable teachers I've had, but he does tangent a bit. I think it's funny and/or practical tangent-going, but obviously some people want nothing but "facts" and lecture. For those taking soil science, split the cost of the book with someone. It's used only for take-home tests and optional homework.

Comment:
Norwick's class consists of a lot of outdated information and most of what you learn you will learn from doing outside work for the class, not during the lectures. He goes on tangents and likes to talk about his neighborhood and Winnie the Pooh. He also flip-flops when grading tests, marking something wrong for one person and right for another.

He's eccentic, spends more time off topic than on, and is not terribly helpful. That being said, if you can get past the nuttiness and concentrate on the work, you'll do fine. Take notes during lecture, put a little effort into the project, and find someone in class who understands the material if you need help with the material.

Steve is great guy. He's a little on the nutty side but his intentions are in the right place. He takes you on three field trips, he has three quizzes, and then three reports. Attend class, go on the field trips and you pass the class. Pretty easy teacher, complex info, rambles a lot!!!!

The physical environment class is pretty good. I think if any class he should be teaching it should eb this one. I could see why he might not be the best for the others though. He seems to be pretty biased on certain topics and I dont know whether to believe him or not and he rambles in class bout things that arent important.

Dear god. Do not take this class. Old people should not be allowed to use computers, period. The program he teaches about, "STELLA," is obsolete. I've asked around, no one at work has even heard of this program. It's ridiculous and useless and godawful. DO NOT TAKE THE COURSE, STEVE BABBLES ABOUT BATH TUBS AND SEA SALT, SOMEONE SHOOT ME AIEEE

The Prof. is enthusiastic when it comes to the physical environment. Mumbles sometimes during lecture. Rides his bike to campus everyday (even in the rain) -in this aspect he "walks the talk" of an environmentalist, but still wear's leather! Hey Steve: wear hemp! Oh yeah, and he like's cookies.

Steve is smart & nice, but not a very good teacher. He will help you if you need it, but he can be confusing. He shows lots of boring slides and mummbles & stutters when he speaks. He is smart but he goes off about weird stuff & talks about middle age.
