Comment:

Dr Schlereth is an interesting person however, his tests don't directly reflect his lecture. There are only 3 tests, so if you do poorly on any one you are at a distinct disadvantage. Read the chapters thoroughly, rather than relying on his lecture and study guide as they are not completely inclusive. Two extra credit opportunities, 5 pts each.

Seriously. Just study directly off of his study guide, don't slack. He test directly from the book. He was very opinionated and sometimes offensive. But, if you can get past your own personal opinions, you might actually learn something. Easy class, I would recommend him to anyone. Oh, and do the extra credit, don't miss a class. helps your grade

Interesting instructor, with a wealth of knowledge in his field.3 test for the whole semester, so if you do bad on one, you'r done. Extra credit writting assignments on in class films, 3 worth 5 points each. Attend class and participate - not easy, but not super hard

This professor is funny and I agree with most of what he says about society, but the way he grades is very unfair. He bases our grades off 3 tests. the tests are hard. we only have tests, and no work except 3 extra credit assignments but if you fail the tests you won't pass anyway!

I had him for marriage and alt. lifestyles and it was a pretty good overall course experience. Generous grading curve, and all lectures were supplemented with powerpoint. He even posted the powerpoints to those who didnt attend all the time. Given the bones he threw students, I would say that he was a pretty cool professor. Funny guy too.

WORST TEACHER EVER!!! he never talks about anything worth listening to and he never covers any of the text which you are tested on. If you take him, only show up for tests and just read the chapters yourself

The teacher is funny, i'll give him that, but overall i would not take him again. There is no point in taking notes in his class. Don't take in easily offended by foul language. Go only off the study guide, and you'll do alright.

Lots of cursing! Very funny teacher, someone left a bag of condoms on his desk as a prank and he put one in his mouth to make a point. Don't really bother taking notes unless you really want an A, to pass all you have to do is read the study guide and the end-of-chapter summaries before a test. Pretty good grading scale. Overall he's hilarious!

I RECEIVED AN "A" AND I DID HAVE A 70% ON ONE EXAM, SO NICE CURVE. THE MOST ENTERTANING CLASS OUT OF THE 15 IVE HAD PREVIOUS. DOES NOT CARE FOR PRESIDENTS,BUT WHO DOES? ESPECIALLY BUSH, BUT WHO DOES CARE FOR BUSH?! RECOMMEND THIS CLASS.

I passed with a B but got low scores on my tests. There are three tests and extra credit papers. VERY foul mouth and is very vocal about his opinions. He can be a bit annoying with all of his views and perhaps insulting to some. If you can tolerate being insulted, you'll do fine.

Do not take this teacher if you are offended by foul language, or President Bush insults. I loved every moment of the lectures(I found them hillarious!). It is hard to take notes due to his poor organization and illegible handwriting. He allows you to buy old editions of the text book. He could ease up on the tests.

All I have to say is cool guy, LOTS OF FOUL LANGUAGE and yeah, some of his opinion too (it did offend some classmates) however, lots of videos(cool ones - ok like 2lol) and also, DONT BOTHER TAKING LECTURE NOTES! Surefire way to get at least a B on tests is to go by his study guide and read the chapters which aren't bad. You'll pass guaranteed!

Dr. S is a really cool guy. Great teacher, could ease up on the tests a little though. Makes class FUN AND INTERESTING I love the "cool little videos" and the foul language is great. Wakes you up...I have him at 8 a.m.
