Took Chem 345 (Org 2) at UWM in the summer. It was a wonderful class, and he is a great instructor. Definitely the strongest science teacher I have had. Very approachable, and seems caring. Go to class! I did not use the textbook, but I practiced and studied often. Know your mechanisms like the back of your hand, and you will do well.

He is a great Chem Professor! We printed handouts for class and filled blanks/drew structure. Real world Chem 4 EC on exam. Made himself available for help. Read, go to class, make note cards, ask questions. You'll have no problem EARNING an A or B. Do good on 1st 2 exams, last 2 are pretty hard. Relatable guy, which is rare in Chem professors.

A great organic chemistry professor. Took the 2nd half over the summer and so happy I did. On top of being very clear he would always add a bit of real life chemistry info, which is nice when you have no idea what you're actually studying. The best thing about him was his approachability, as many chem professors are intimidating and not helpful.

I took this class over the summer at UWM and it was the best thing I've ever done! As long as you study you can definitely get an A. He is very clear with what he expects.

Dr. Templin is a good professor. Mastering organic chemistry takes a lot of memorization, practice, and application. You have to work hard! I took this class in the summer - an 8 week period of time (an exam every 2 weeks), and I definitely learned from him and his teaching style. The biggest obstacle I had was time - his teaching is wonderful!

EXTREMELY clear about what is expected for each exam, etc. The material is difficult, but it IS an organic chem class, so.... yeah. He's actually a wonderful profssor. Don't take out your lack of effort on him.

Well he seems to dislike people of color it looks like. He has horrible teaching skills, communication skills and lab skills. Never knows why things go wrong in lab, he gives people good grades if you suck up, and he makes you look stupid, but he enjoys it. I have to retake, but next time I will be prepared. never be late.

Bought the expensive textbook for class and was told that we will not use the book. Seen him during office hours for help and told me he could not foresee me passing his class, but I did. Very strict on attendance and often complains to the class about class averages on assignments, exams, etc. Takes points off on grammar. Least favorite prof.

You just have to listen in class and do your lab work and you should get a passing grade. His grading scale makes sure everybody passes. His lectures can sometimes get long and boring but he likes when you ask questions and answers in an accurate manner. Watch your spelling because he marks down for that.

It would be almost impossible to do poorly in his class. All information on tests is given to you repeatedly before the test, including practice tests. He explains things over and over in different ways so that everyone understands. Very patient and very easy. Just show up and take notes, which are worksheets that he fills in on the overhead.

One of the worst teachers I have ever had. I had him for OChem. He always stressed to us to come to him for help. I came in after class one day to ask him some questions about the homework and his response was "If you don't know that by now..." and then he left. I tried again and again to get help from him but to no avail. Bad experience.

Great example of how not to teach. He should be fired and whoever hired him should go as well. Quite possibly the worst teacher I've ever had.

He is horrible, the worst teacher ever! When you ask a question he makes you feel stupid & then explains the question and does not respond to u. Also he will give u this blank look like you are completely brainless! He grades different people differently. Also he will marked down if you don't write the the date and class # u will be marked down!

Lectures well but lacks many social skills, making it hard to relate or communicate with him. At times it would seem that he appears to take pleasure in making you feel like crap. Do see him for things, he really likes that. Do look at his books on reserve in the library. Do not show up late. Do not hand in work late.
