Professor Armstrong is awesome. I had him my freshmen year. My class and I had great discussions. He knew his information well. He even cut us slack on the papers we had to write. One of the papers he told us that we could have an extra week because there was midterms going on. Highly recommend!

Prof. Armstrong knows a lot about history and the subject he's teaching. I had no interest in history but he made learning about modern europe very interesting and understandable. He was a very nice guy and a very fair grader. Lots of reading so make sure you get the textbook.

This class was very easy as long as you did the reading. Class dicussion was always interesting. The books you have to read on the side not so much. Semi easy grader. But I LOVED him as an overall teacher.

Class is okay. There are a few 10 question quizzes that happen on some chapters. Other quizzes involve class discussion. Class is usually discussion on the chapters. Midterm and final are two large essay questions. Three papers on three different books are assigned throughout the course. He has some interesting stories to tell.

Unless you like EXCESSIVE reading, busy work, and weekly quizzes, do not take this class. Armstrong doesnt ever teach the material, just assigns reading and gives 10 question quizzes and 3 papers on books. Waste of time. I havent learned anything from this class b/c there is too much material he expects you to absorb in a short amount of time.

Absolutely loved this class, mostly due to the fact that it was taught by this professor. Modern European history only mildly interested me prior to attending this class, but he made it very interesting. Overall fun guy with a good sense of humor. Tough class, so pay attention and attend every class but definitely worth the time and money :)

He was a good professor. There's a good amount of reading but it's all easy. Three 3 page papers, midterm and final, and 16 quizzes but half the time all you have to do is participate and you get an A for the quiz. He doesn't lecture, its more of a discussion class. I really liked him, and learned a lot.

Overall this class was ok. There is a lot of reading for this class, but the professor tries to make it interesting. If you have your own interest in the topic, then it is a good class. Midterm and final easy to prepare for, and the essay are all right, but he makes it difficult to get an A.

I am not really into history but I really enjoyed this class. He was a really nice guy and a very fair grader. Quizzes almost every class and a midterm and final. All fairly easy. Midterm and final are easy to prepare for. I would definately take another history class with him.

This class did not disappoint. I'm not that much of a history guy, but I really enjoyed this class. The discussion base was way more interesting than just hearing him talk for an hour. If you don't like reading, don't take this class because there is a lot of it. Essays weren't that hard. Just remember to use quotes to support your arguments.

Awesome teacher. I'm not really into history much, but the class was really interactive and discussion based. The essays are pretty easy, reading is mostly easy, and the midterm was easy. Quizzes are easy as long as you read the chapter, and are group, listing, or participation based usually. He knows his stuff and is also funny.

I really dont like history but I loved this class. He made it interesting. A lot of work involved but it's not that difficult and he is a pretty easy grader. Great class discussions. Quiz almost every class, 3 paper (dont really need to read), and the midterm and final (get a note card and can prewrite essays). Highly recommend him.

Good teacher, knows his stuff, funny also. 3 very easy 3 page essays, read the books and get quotes and you're good. Lets you use note cards for exams, really easy essays. Would def. recommend. Warning tho: do the readings or at least skim the pages, quiz almost every class!

Great teacher; manages to break down the material to the basic concepts and use them as a jumping off point for class discussions. Assigns quite a bit of reading and quizzes nearly every week, but both are very manageable. Three short essays plus a midterm and final are easy as well. Very easygoing also. Would recommend.
