Comment:

This was my first class in the graduate program at NJIT, and boy was it an eye opener. You can expect to put some serious time into this class. The easy weeks may be less than 5 hours, but the hard weeks can be as many as 20. The mid-term I easily put in 40+ hours. All that being said, Dr. Chien is brilliant. Enjoy the class, but schedule wisely.

Comment:

Professor Chien is a very smart and very knowledgeable person. His lectures are clear and organized, and if you put in some effort you should be able to do well. His exams are fair and all the material is covered in class. He knows his material very well, and knows the answer to anything you might ask. I learned a lot from his class!

TRAN 625 in 14 Spring is the WORST class I've even taken. Only 6 times face to face lecture and a huge project was assigned before he teaches nothing. Basically his project equals to a master project which worths 3 credits. Meantime you still have to do all the study and homework online! Why NJIT called this kind of class face-to-face? WORST EVER!

Prof. Chien is a really good teacher but requires alot of work in order to get a good grade. He's always willing to meet with students and will work extra for those who are interested. His lectures are well organized and his class is well put together. Expect to put in alot of work
