Ortiz is awesome. His lectures are extremely interesting, he knows his stuff. Depending on the TA you get (you're set if you have Barclay), the class is crazy easy (quizzes are handled by TAs and the papers are graded by TAs). I strongly recommend this class.

I loved Ortiz. He is one of the best teachers at UF and he is really passionite about history. His tests are fair and his lectures are entertaining. If you want an A you must go to class because the essays are graded very meticulously.

Nice guy. Young and energetic. A little nutty perhaps, but its history. He was a great lecturer and the double block went by fast. His expectations are clear and he guides you well for the test. Highly reccommended.

An excellent teacher and also very approachable. He's not neccesarily easy, but he's a great teacher and you will definitely learn, and he's pretty approachable. When we were doing evaluations, everyone I saw have him all 5's, myself included.
