Comment:

Cancels class quite frequently. She had to cut out our final paper and several chapters to make the timeline work. She always has "valid" reasons to cancel but I've never known anyone to get sick so frequently. She doesn't have office hours but as dept. head she's always busy and doesn't seem to want to help. When she's there lectures are fine

Not too hard of a class. If you read the book for each of the sections and do online homework, it won't be too hard to get a good grade. She says that if you pay attention in lecture, you can usually manage a B on the exams. Reading the textbook will get you the A. She makes lectures interesting most of the time but, beware of the boring ppt days!!

Great teacher. Shows a lot of videos to support lectures, some of which are pretty funny. Normal lectures are boring! Get the psychology studies (done by higher-level students) done EARLY. 200+ people go after them, and they fill up quick. BOOK NEEDED TO PASS.

Great prof! She's very funny, easy to talk too, very knowledgeable, and helpful! Take her for anything you can! Lots of small projects but you learn a lot about yourself and the psychology major!

Awesome teacher. Really understands what people have trouble on and makes it clear. I had her for Stats and I always loved stats so the class was super easy. Just do the reading and make yourself do the practice problems. She doesn't assign problems but it's a good idea to practice them

Susie Amato is one of the best teachers ever! She is very knowledgeable, interesting, and approachable. I actually looked forward to going to her classes--EVEN statistics, which I dreaded before I took it with her. She's amazing. You will NOT be disappointed if you take one of her classes.

She is my advisor, a cool woman, but I would say I am not a big fan of powerpoint slide-show lectures. Sort of boring. Got disappointed by taking her class. The exams are not hard as long as you study the notes. SHe is always willing to help, but Helton Deak's lectures are much better. Psychology could be more fun than her class.

I really liked Dr. Amato, she was a lot of fun and kept the class interesting. Funny lady, too! I got an A but I know many people who did not. Put a bit of time in and you'll do well, plus you'll enjoy the class more anyhow!

Only Susan Amato goes through all the trouble of thinking innovative ways to keep your attention in class! There are very few teachers who would do that. Learning is fun in her class, most ppl crack up big time and actually learn with interest!
