First time taking Dr. Brown, I loved her anthropology of religion class and I definitely learned a lot. The topics and lectures were interesting, and I will admit I skipped a few classes, but when I didn't there was always an interesting topic. We watched some videos during class. Overall, her way of teaching was great and I would take her again.

This class is pretty easy. Some textbook use. Open book/note tests/quizzes. She shows a lot of videos, but we rarely talk about religion lol. She talks a lot about her field work in a yoga community in the US.

This course was a hybrid course and the grading was based on a collection of points instead of average weighted grade. It was pretty easy class, but, if you aren't good at motivating yourself to the effort for online studying and group discussions, you might fail. takes attendance on blackboard too. Only one paper. she's a little boring in lectures

Professor Brown is an amazing professor! It is an intense reading and writing course. ALL OF THE BOOKS ARE MANDATORY. There is a paper for each book we read but it is very interesting! She is very knowledgeable in her field. She is very kind and will give you feedback on your work. She is one of those professors that wants her students to succeed!

Professor Brown is one of the greatest professors I have ever had at FAU. She is brilliant and knows a lot about the world around us. It is true that her classes are intense reading and writing. But, she does go over it in class and clarifies a lot for the students. I would recommend taking her. She is very down to earth and helps her students.

I thought she was interesting at first, but her lectures are odd and unclear and she struggles to connect with students and create a comfortable atmosphere for participation. Her papers are extremely difficult and it is unclear what she is looking for. She uses a text that is 60 years old and her papers are based on this text as a basis. AVOID.

I enjoyed Anthropology of Religion online. Discussion posts are due weekly, a quiz every few weeks, mid-term, and final. There are reading assignments from articles and you must read the chapters of the book. Online is easy because they are open book.

Her class is not easy to follow. That is her biggest problem. I would have loved to learn Anthropology even though I am not majoring in the field but the due dates and inability to turn in work late make her class too annoying and difficult. The text and read were ok but her teaching techniques stink!

She is a very nice person. However, she assigns entirely way too much work and too much reading. Never in my life have I had so much work. Granted, I am in two of her classes this semester. I am an A student (senior) and am struggling. If you have to take her, go for it. Certainly never take two of her classes at once, though.

Boring class. The class is part of the the reason why I no longer want to be in the anthropology feild. Easy A though. She loves giving extra credit. Tests are easy.

I loved her class. She was detailed and focused on her topics. There were many textbooks and papers required but I expect that from an upper level class. I felt she was interested in teaching and in how her students were learning. I did not find her grading all that hard. You will earn in her class.

not the most willing to cooperate with student needs/not very flexible. very stringent about deadlines and fairly strict on grading. online class has a decent amount of work, including long term paper. have to be on point for this one.

I took Gender and Culture as an elective, WHAT A MISTAKE! The class was way to intense for non-anthropology majors, should have a pre-requisite. I ended up dropping. Long sotry short: 7 required text-books. The lectures were all over the place... never again.

I never had such a hard time with a professor and I graduated with well over a 3.0 Seems like she was determined to give me a hard time. I would see her for help on a paper, she'd tell me what to do to fix it, than when I turned it in she still gave me a bad grade and it was as if she never gave me advice to begin with. Avoid this one at all cost.
