I loved Sellers for 141! She is an amazing teacher and makes sure that everyone feels comfortable when giving their speeches. If you skip class, you will have no idea what the criteria for assignments are and it won't look good for you. We used the textbook but you can get by without it. If you put forth the effort, this should be an easy A.

Mrs. Sellers is a great teacher! She really cares about the grades of her students but she won't sugar coat things. She expects you to do your work and turn it in when you're supposed to. Class isn't mandatory but if you want an A you need to come to class and participate. I would definitely take her class again and recommend it to someone.

I took American Lit over the summer, the reading is constant but expected. The test were not tough if you took notes and read all the required material and bonus was usually offered. I loved her lectures and she is a great professor. The summer course was taught extremely well and I feel very confident in my performance, work hard and it pays off.

Mrs. Sellers was my first English professor at JSU, and she is by far the best! I am grateful for the time and effort she put into her class to make it a success. I learned everything I should have learned and then some because of her enthusiasm and passion for the class. She will do anything she can to help you, but you have to make an effort!

She is a decent enough teacher but do not take this class if U expect to have additional classes. she is unsympathetic and even missing once without a legal excuse will cost you about 10 pts. i was excited about this class. now she just annoys me and it sucks the fun right out of it.

First half of semester you do tons of time-consuming writing. Second half of semester is like a speech class because you have to do three things orally. 1, teach the class part of the textbook. 2, a book talk in which you dress up and act like a character. 3, present your research. This class involves fun reading but also hard work and speeches.

I was a nontraditional student returning to college after 19-20 years. This lady encouraged me more than any other professor. She is strict and extremely serious about educating as you should be about receiving an education! She will prepare you for your career, but YOU must be willing to do the work! I just loved the lady...KMCD

Professor Sellers is a wonderful teacher, with an all to strict grading policy. Ex. 5 points off for each mispelled word, 10 points for extra comma, 2 points for missing comma, etc. Needless to say it's not hard to fail this class.

She was extremely helpful, and truly the best English teacher I've ever had! I've had her for 3 classes-- YA lit, 102, and 201. Thanks to her, I'll be a better teacher one day.

This is a dreadful woman. The Young Adult class itself is really good, if only they could replace her. She is not friendly or understanding. If you have problems speaking in front of people, the book talk wil be hard for you. She does not care how hard it is for you to dress up and act out a skit alone in front of the class. She is not encouraging
