She tells you to read your text book for the tests but then doesnt even have any of it on the test. Shes super boring and a TON of work but never really clear about what she wants. Doesnt tell you whats on the tests at all... She made me not like history..

Comment:

Quizzes deal with textbook material and lecture material, almost to the T. No homework, so no grade boosters until she assigns extra credit essay topics. Very time consuming, and definitely requires tons of time to get an A. Final is solely questions from previous quizzes, so that will help your final grade

Comment:

She is a great teacher and knows the material. However, she takes a while to answer emails or just doesn't answer. Also she gives 5 quizzes, final, and one paper(1500words) she puts quiz grades in the next day but for extra credit and the paper it takes a while to get feedback. To pass the class you MUST read the book (quiz is from book)

Very passionate about the material. You MUST read and study the textbook in order to pass. She only takes quiz questions from the textbook. Many students drop because they can't keep up with the exams. just learn to study well and you'll be fine. important to know that she is IMPOSSIBLE to get in touch with outside of class. never checks email.

Reading the textbook is essential to passing this class. You take each quiz twice. once by yourself and then with a group so pick a good group. The final is just the past quizzes which makes for an easy A. If you read and study you should easily get an A.

I was excited to take her class until she said that taking notes wasn't going to help you. In order to pass the test you're required to read the entire chapter, even then you never know exactly what to study. She also denied my request for an extension on a book report after she hastily moved up the due date two weeks before it was due.

Comment:

Was a museum curator for many years and really knows her stuff. Enthusiastic about the subject, wants students to be their own people and not manufactured robots from the college. Must read textbook, gives many hints as to what will be on tests. Final taken from previous tests. Nothing but lectures. Extremely kind and helpful.

Dr. Wallace was a nice woman. However, you have to study and pay attention to her lectures to do well. I liked her technique of quizzing us individually and then in a group and averaging the two grades together. The only written assignment she gave us was a book report at the end of the class. I recommend her, especially if you dual enroll.

She is a nice women. While you HAVE to study to get good grades in this class, she does help with her lectures. She drops hints on what was going to be on the test. Lectures can be boring though, study like this was am AP class and you will do fine. Recommend! I am a dual enrollment student and I did fine.

Class can be boring, she lectures the whole time, but listen, she will drop hints for the tests. She words the test to check our understanding, not for memorizing dates. We would take one test- form groups,take the test again-average the scores. Don't pick a lazy group! Does not work at all online or thru email.

I will say this off the bat, you MUST study in order to pass this class. During her lectures she hints at what will be on the quizzes and tells you what pages you need to study for each quiz. If you take notes on her outlines and read the chapters (more than once) you'll do fine. She also curves the quizzes. Book report requirement was also easy.

Plain and simple, nice lady AWFUL TEACHER. Her notes that she puts up are a OUTLINE of the chapter, not a clear explanation what occurred. If you want any chance of passing a test read the chapters that it is on forward and backwards. No clear notes to help study. Lol if you take this course with her GOODLUCK STUDY H.A.R.D.

After failing History twice, I somehow managed to get a B in this class -that i did not deserve. After every test, you take the same test as a group then she averages them both together. That's what saved my grade. 1 paper is due towards the end. She's not a tough grader. Super nice. She reads from the bookt hen elaborates on it. Kind of boring.

This class is involves A LOT of studying. The quiz's are hard and require a very thorough understanding of the material. However, Dr. Wallace is very understanding and often curves on all quiz's and even drops your lowest quiz grade. The final (worth 40%) is very simple and are the exact questions from the quiz's. Take only if u don't mind studying

Her lectures are boring and long, the quizzes were extremely hard and her notes had nothing to do with the quizzes, it's pointless to go to the class because you basically have to teach yourself the chapter. She didn't explain at all what she wanted us to do for the term paper. She's uninvolved with her students. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!!!

Hard class due to the slide IDs and unorganization. She kept changing the layout of the IDs so it was very hard to study for them. Take LOTS of notes in class on everything she points out and you'll at least have a chance for them. The notebook was easy just do a lot and not fall behind. If you keep up with the work you will do ok- I got an A.

Dr. Wallace is avery nice teacher. I took her in the spring. She is interested in the success of all of her students and actively works to better their understanding and help them out. Granted her lectures get a wee bit dry but if you show an interest then she will too. Test questions from the book so read many times! final 40%-VERY easy. RECOMEND!
