Comment:
Kirmani is very approachable and is willing to help you out, but he will make you work for your grade. Get ready for a boring lecture, with repeated information straight from the handouts he gives. Supplemental Instruction (SI) will be your best friend. Attend the SI sessions and you will do fine. Very Hard Final....

Kirmani is a good guy, who has helped me a lot as an advisor, but once you get to class it's 75 minutes of what the hell just happened.

This guy is an absolute dog turd! His accent is so thick he is hard to understand, boring lectures and challenging tests. Lots of better professors out there than this guy.

I'm not sure if it was the class or Kirmani that made this class difficult. He is caring and such a sweetheart but he doesn't explain the concepts very well. You will get a lot of handouts that he goes over. The homework saves your grade from the test since he only grades 1 of the 5 questions, the other 4 you get full points for just doing them.

Wastes a bunch of paper with handouts of proofs of theorems. Writes everything that's already in the handout on the board, when he could be using that time to show us examples. I studied for like 5-10 hours for his tests and get a little below average results.

Kirmani is really a great guy. Yes, his lectures may drag on time, but he truly does teach the material. He curves the tests, and I am pretty sure he doesn't grade the final. Overall, if you like math and do the homework, you should get an easy A. Also, he is not hard to understand at all...

Great professor, really cares about student success. Hard to understand at first, but I have had 5 classes with him now. If you are doing AcSci or Statistics you don't really have a choice, so get to know him and don't be afraid to go ask for help in his office, he will try very hard to help you learn. Do the homework, its is weighted very heavily

If you are not a math major, avoid his classes. If you are a math major, you should take his classes. If you do well, you are in the right field. If you don't do well, rethink your major. His classes rely on you to figure out some things on your own, but he very kind with the grading and will help with any questions.

This is a brilliant man, who is a horrible teacher. DO NOT take classes with him if you can avoid it. I've taken three semesters worth of math classes with him and have yet to learn anything. Tests are too long to be able to finish and he is little help inside and outside the classroom.

Hard to understand, does not explain anything in class. Usually just copies everything off of handouts he gives in class. Says you need the book, but then doesn't use it. Knows his stuff, but doesn't know how to teach it to students. Curves a lot.

Kirmani is a good teacher who cares about his students. The information covered is hard, but Kirmani makes it easier by heavily waiting homework and curving tests. Would only recommend to serious Math majors, but he is very intelligent and you will learn a lot.

This guy is pretty cool. He curves like crazy. Just turn in the homework, even if it's not right(or even done) and you'll probably get full credit. He really cares about students, and wants everyone to do well. One of the best professors at UNI, this hidden "gem" of Iowa. I highly recommend him.

Nice guy, but not necessairly the most clear. He expects you to be really good at general math and expects a lot of you in class. I wouldn't recommend to someone who isn't very good in math, or you will be helplessly behind after the first day.

great professor. explains everything very well. he will say "we are getting behind" but that just means take home tests. when he suggests study questions, do them cus they will probably be on the test. he'll give you everything you need to learn the material plus more.
