Comment:

Easily one of the best professors at IUP. It is sad that she is leaving for Penn State. I'm just happy that I had the chance to have a class with her. I truly learned a lot. She knows her material and gets you to think critically. Great professor.

Comment:

I took her Islam class as a elective, for my political science program. What a wonderful class and professor! She doesn't judge your religion at all, she just teaches. There are so many ways for success in the class. Study the terms well, confusing at times. The scariest part for her class was going to an actual mosque, but it was so worth it.

Coming from someone who always hated religion in general,she is terrific. She makes the whole Islamic religion seem crystal clear. To pass the tests though, you have to be prepared to study a whole lot, because a lot of the terms can be confusing. Numerous ways for success in this class though. I took a lot out of this class, as well. Take her!!

There is a definite difference between teachers and scholars; Dr. Holm is a true scholar. I honestly believe that IUP is lucky to have acquired such a learned individual. Take her is you want to see what a true Professor and scholar is all about.

The textbook is a waste of money and I barely used it. She gives study guides and bonus questions. Everything she tests you on is covered in class. It was really easy and she really knows what she's talking about. She gives extra credit for 100% attendance at the end of the course. I'd definitely recommend her, it's an easy A.

Very easy class. Attendance isn't mandatory and she gives you extra credit for not missing more than 3 classes. She puts the essays for the final and midterm up on webct 2 weeks before. Study guides for the quizzes too. I got by with just memorizing the key terms in the book. You should read the book though if you don't go to class a lot. Take her

Good professor. Extra credit for not missing more than three classes. Easy quizzes if you pay attention in class and read the book. She gives a list of questions ahead of time for the mid-term and final and you just have to memorize 3 essays for the mid-term and 4 for the final. Not bad, would take her again.

Shes soo nice and tries to be funny. Attendance is taken every class but its for extra points, you get 20 if you only miss 1-2 classes. Tests are easy multiple choice and as long as you listen to what she says youll get an A

Dr. Holm is a really great professor. She uses webct and puts up study guides that you fill out in class. The exams and quizzes are entirely from these guides. Don't buy the books unless you really want to. I read the first week, then didn't touch the books again and got an A. But you do have to go and pay attention in class.

I loved this professor. She explains the Bible in words that make sense to a normal person. She also has a sense of humor which you don't normally expect with a religion class. I would definitely take her again. Make sure that you come to class and pay attention. If you do that, you'll get an A.

I had her for Understanding the Bible and I was always interested to go. The notes and the lectures are exactly what the tests and quizes are. She types worksheets up on WEBCT and I would advise you to print them out just so you have them. Essay questions are usually taken from there and class. My friend and I loved her!!

Very nice teacher intersting class and she has a good knologw of diffrent religons. Quizes every class but she goes over all the material in class before the quize. very long home works but it's every weekend. No final it's only a paper. Esay class take her.

I found the class to be really easy and interesting. The assignments/projects were a little long, but she was a really lenient grader. The quizzes were also really easy since she went over almost everything that was on them in class. A little disorganized, but overall a pretty good class.

Definately take her for writing intensive. I know nothing about archaeology, but she made it easy to understand. seems like a lot of material but its not. loved the class. would take her again. I decided to minor in religious studies because of her.
