Good professor, but he writes hard tests. The essay tests are easy and the multiple choise is killer. Everything you need to know for tests is in the lecture and you don't really need to read the book at all.

Good class, but the tests are extremely HARD. The points come from 4 tests, 1 paper and a handful of maps and participation points. 2 of the 4 tests are half essay and very hard. Be warned this is not an easy class. You have to want to be there to get a good grade, and A's are nearly impossible by his own admission.
