Great professor! Passionate and knows what he's talking about. Very strict about people respecting his time, don't be late,be on time and ready to learn, easy A if you pay attention. Gives you answers to all tests and final is open book open note. I loved this class and would definitely take him again!He's a sweet man but tough on the outside.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE BOOK! You won't use it... at least you'll never use it for the purpose it was intended for. Just take notes in the class, and if you have half a brain you'll make an A. Also, Bales was kind of annoying how he interrupted movies to point out something irrelevant.

Very interesting class. Professor Bakes is also a very interesting guy--actually worked in the field of communications/journalism & knows a lot about his field. Doesn't give a ton of hw, quizzes are relatively easy if you pay attention & final project is pretty cool as well.

He is the worst professor! Bales is extremely condescending and insulting to anyone who he doesn't feel is 'high culture', like himself, of course. I've grown completely annoyed with him and have had it with his rudeness. If you're the type to ask questions, this is the wrong class, he'll make you feel really stupid. Please take something else!

This teacher is very friendly and wants to help, although he comes off as having a short temper sometimes. He tries his best to explain to students when they have a question. We didn't use the book at all. There are a lot of notes and it's important that you pay attention because the test questions come straight from the pwrpnt.

PLEASE DONT BE LATE TO CLASS! if you are more than 10 mins late, dont bother going in; he might take points away from you. Dont miss quiz days (he sets a specific day everyweek so its not hard to remember). Keep in mind hes old so he thinks hes king kong or something; but if u are planning to go into this field hes one guy u want to get to know

DON'T BE LATE & NO cell phones, he WILL TAKE IT FROM YOU! Other then that super easy class with tons of extra credit, no reason not to get an A. Quiz every wk, 5-10pts (easy). No homework, except 1 final paper, 3-5 pages. Professor= a strange old man who likes to make "odd" comments then laughs to himself while everyone else sits quietly.

Don't be late unless you want to be embarrassed in front of the whole class, don't take bathroom breaks (he's annoyed by that), and you'll be good. He's strict but his class is fairly easy as long as you take notes and pay attention. He offers a lot of extra credit.

This class is extremely boring and very long. You have to go to the classes and take notes/complete the movie questions at the end to get good grades on his exams. My pet peeves are college professors that treat students like children. Especially since I am 30. He is a time nazi, completely unflexible, (your water could break in class and if you left..he wouldnt mark you there or give you the homework) He also talks through the films which I HATE. I almost dropped but now I sit on the opposite side of him.

Took him for Film 103 & 104 got an A both times. Read the text book because it will help with the essay quizzes you take home which are very time consuming. Copy all the notes from the power point because what ever is on the power point is what he wants for the answer on the quizzes. Get all the extra credit possible it will help your grade.

Extremely easy class. I passed with a B over the summer and was extremely bummed bc it was ridiculously easy. Show up every day and you get extra credit at the end of the class. DONT turn in late assignments or show up late.
