Doesn't use lecture slides. A lot of classes are based on group discussion. Grades the 400-level classes by Grad school standards (rarely gives As). Material is fascinating. Expects a lot but honestly if you put in the effort and legitimately try to learn (going to office hours, showing up to every class, taking attentive notes) you'll do well.

Can be a tough grader but great professor. She is really knowledgeable and does a good job explaining concepts through lecture. Discussion sessions proved helpful in further understanding the material. I would take more classes from her if I could.

Terry is amazing and I highly recommend any class taught by her. She's really nice and helpful and easy to talk to. I've taken every class I could with her. She grades hard, but the classes taught by her have always been the ones where I've learned the most.

Awesome teacher! She's really smart and nice and as long as you do the readings and attend the lectures/discussions you'll do fine in the class. I looked forward to this class every time!

Hard but fair. I've taken 4 classes with her, all upper div. If you take a 400 level class, she expects you to know how to write a paper and do the work (ask 4 clarity on grades you don't agree w/). You MUST engage with the material to get a decent grade. Won't inflate grades, but will work to meet out of class. Highly recommended.

LOVE O'Nell. extremely educated woman but makes the information really easy to understand. If you do the readings and go to class then you'll be fine. She doesn't do powerpoints so you have to take good notes. But going to class is not a big deal since all the topics are really interesting! One of my favorite profs!!

She hardly lectured and made the class discuss teachings in groups about everyday. She was flaky and never did anything by the syllabus. She graded hard on essays without much feedback, so you had no idea what to do different.

Nice person, but completely useless as a prof. I stopped going to lectures about week 4 and still got A's. Basically take a couple hours to look up the vocab and you'll do great.

Good teacher, interesting subject material. However she is flaky and NEVER responds to e-mails or phone calls. I suggest you don't miss class, or find a buddy.
