I actually graduated in 2006, but realized I never rated the professors that really changed my life while I was at Evergreen. Thad was one of them, the first of a few. I think he's retired now, but if he ever teaches again you should sign up for his classes. He is a genius, an amazing lecturer, the best with seminars, and has great taste.

Thad is a true scholarly academic. He has an immense knowlege of history and literature. Too bad, he is way more interested in the reading than his students are. Even so, Thad is a fun little guy with a good sense of humor. He will tear your papers apart and you will definitely be a better writer by the end of his programs.

Thad will definitely work you as far as your writing goes. He will tear your essays apart. But he never attacks your ideas, unless you fail to prove your thesis. He will always listen to what you have to say. He just wants you to say it clearly and well.

You gotta stay focused on what he's saying to get full comprehension of it, but if you absorb even a fraction of this man's knowledge you'll know a lot about the subject he's teaching. Fantastic when it comes to help outside of class, and a great guy.

While it's sometimes difficult to keep track of his point when he lectures, his sheer breadth and depth of knowledge makes up for it. Quite simply, Thad knows his stuff, and he's serious about making his students know it as well.

Thad can be vague and confusing, and his lectures can be very uninteresting. He is intelligent though, and can be a good help when you persue him. He also has priceless moments of hilarity and Freudian sexual associations.
