Absolutely horrible at explaining concepts. Thinks he's really good at it, but when you ask for clarification he really just repeats the same explanation again at twice the volume. He's definitely passionate about the subject, he's just not a good teacher. Some professors are best left to their research.

Dr. Chang isnt the best professor I have had, but he also isnt the worst. His notes are super old and it seems that he refuses to write new ones. Quizzes/tests can be difficult. If you put in a lot of time studying then passing shouldnt be a problem. Also dont use your phone in class, he hates it. Overall, not a bad prof. he is a funny guy to have.

He gives homework assignments every night, making attendance mandatory. He still uses an overhead projector for notes. He has multiple priceless quotes that make the time go by faster. Quizzes and exams are tough. Get used to his teaching style, he teaches CE 342 and CE 343.

Really tough class but its possible to pass on the first try if you put in a lot of time and really study the examples he gives. Gives partial credit based on how the class did as a whole and not the severity of the error you made(which is a really stupid way of grading in my opinion)

His lectures are pre-determined... they haven't changed in awhile, so if you can find notes, do so. You will end up teaching yourself the material which is good because thats the only way you'll learn. Go to the SI's and you should be just fine.
