Comment:

Professor Killian sometimes gets off topic but the stories are always interesting. There are only 2 test the whole semester with an optional final that would replace your lowest grade. You have 12 homework assignments. Test aren't too hard if you study. He says things in class that aren't on the powerpoints so you have to pay attention to do good.

Comment:

He is a super smart guy, but maybe stretches himself too thin with all the things he is doing. He loses papers, takes forever to grade anything, does not use blackboard very well if at all, slow at emailing, and can't seem to remember to assign assignments that are a good chunk of your grade. Follow the book, its the only thing that is reliable.

If you go to class, and do the work, this class will be a breeze. Pay attention and study what he tells you.... the study guides are identical to the tests. Great teacher and bends over backwards for his students.

The online modules take hours! There are five modules to complete per unit, each one taking about 2 hours. The tests are multiple choice, but are impossible to study for because they will most likely be over 5 chapters at a time and he gives little to no guidance on what he will actually focus on for the test.

Too smart for his own good, killian can't explain nor clarify formulas and problems. A lot of math, buy the book. Try to keep up. He messes up formulas often.

Class is so boring that you want to fall asleep since he reads straight from the powerpoints. He is super scatterbrained as well. Homework is very long and not that helpful. There is tons of information to study for tests. Only good thing is the extra credit

I took Killian for Lifespan Dev. and went to class a total of 5 times. Literally. Lectures are not mandatory and powerpoint notes are online. Gives some extra credit for attendance on certain days (but will tell you ahead of time). The online homework is time consuming and so is studying for tests (tons of information). Drops lowest test score.

Lifespan was definitely an easy class. Lectures are not mandatory & the online homework is simple (though time consuming). Tests come straight from the online homework with very few questions coming from material only taught in class. It is a lot of material to study; however, it is not difficult material. No longer on a +/- scale.

The curriculum changed this semester, and it was definitely not a good change. He read straight from the power points, and the tests are given to him from the company, so he doesn't even look at them. He always came to class flustered and wasted a lot of time. He is the only Lifespan teacher, so good luck.

Attendance is not mandatory. Lectures are simply a repeat of powerpoints. I personally learned better just studying the slides, than going to class and listening. Had online homework modules due this semester, very easy, just take time and boost the grades. Curved many test grades, which was nice. Friendly and helpful if you approach him.

Killian knows his stuff. He can seem kind of imtimidating in class but if there is something you do not need understand just go to his office and he will be extremely helpful in whatever you need. Just communicate with him.

Gave 12 pts extra credit in total (i.e make a 78 on a test and now it's an A) IF you show up to class. All the questions are from the lecture. I didn't open my book and made an A. Pay attention and show up. Really nice guy and fun, interesting lectures. EXCEPT YOU HAVE TO WATCH A BABY BE BORN SO BEWARE!!! SO NASTY!!

his lectures are INCREDIBLY boring, so i didnt go to class. There is always a note taker for his class and they put the notes online, and for $5 you get everything you need for the test. I was able to get an A without attending, but you MUST have the notes, and you have to study everything in his ppts.

Interesting course about people. He's easy to understand. The tests aren't hard if you forth ANY effort to show up regularly and review your notes the night before.
