Mr. Lupo has had a life time of experience in GIS and is able to explain the concepts clearly for beginners. There are weekly homework assignments and the tests are open notebook, just be sure to copy everything he writes on the board.

Tom is an excellent instructor. He makes an exceptional impression at presenting all GIS information to his students. He also has a great sense of humor. I wish he taught more classes. A highly valuable asset to American River College.

Mr. Lupo's classes are always so well planned that you will wish he could teach others (mm..hm..evanisko) how to teach something so cleanly. You will learn from him, and he will make it interesting, even on the late nights.

Comment:

Very thorough - covers various pitfalls of GIS besides it's strengths, including problems not commonly mentioned in textbooks and software documentation. Students are sometimes turned off by his cynicism, though.
